I don't know of any vehicle that could readily tip up a Tiger like that. My best guess so far is a nearby bomb blast.

An engineering tank with a dozer blade could've shoved the Tiger off the road, and could have flipped it over quite easily once the wheels of that Tiger got stuck in the slight ditch next to the road.

Problem is a dozer blade can't reach up that high. It could push it off the road, sure. But flip it over? Tanks of that width have a relatively low center of gravity and can't be flipped over as easily as a car.

but the road is clear of debris and shrapnel?

Also, if the blast would be powerful enough to tip it aside, wouldn't it also rip off the spare tracks on the turret?

Not always in both cases. To be fair, I don't know what caused the Tiger to end up like this.
But here is one of a Panther completely upside down. Note the snorkel tube is still in tact and attached.

the Americans pushed it over because it disturbed traffic and scared the new guys.

Can the MG42 use the drum mag from MG34?

To expand on the "yes". Aside from jamming issues, the high rate of fire of the MG42 uses up the...I want to say 75 rounds, pretty quickly. So fast that it was more practical just to feed it directly from an ammo box.

Been ages since we had some real combat pictures here. Enjoy. Better not look if you just had a big meal.
Its only a link for safety :)

Probably because there might be a forum user that was there and it brings back fucking terrible memories.

Then I apologise for not showing fancy PR approved pictures of exercises that where made to make you join the armed forces.

Seriously! Some people get REALLY strange ideas about war. People who want to just focus on how cool it all looks while forgetting that war is, by definition, people getting killed, often horribly.
Anyone who can't handle their "terrible memories" probably shouldn't be constantly looking at ANY of these photos. So really, it only offends squeamish war gamers who have never seen an arm blown off.

EDITED TO CONTINUE RANT:
What disgusts me MORE than maimed soldiers is people trying to ignore it and cover it up. People are fighting and dying RIGHT NOW in Afghanistan. You don't see ANY of it on the news. And on the internet, teenagers and people with weak constitutions want all the images sanitized so as to not upset their delicate sensibilities. If you can't handle looking at stuff like that, push for world peace and stop studying WAR. But stop fooling yourself into feeling like it isn't happening.

Considering those are Air Force jets, the Tomcat is NOT missing as it was a Navy fighter.

Exterior photos only for now. Weekend after next I might be able to pop inside and take a few photos.
This particular model is an M26A1.

Franco-Prussian war?

One would be reasonable in suspecting this, but sadly no. You can tell by the man on the left (slung a Lebel rifle) that this is most likely around the early stages of WW1.

But google told me after i typed this, so i know now, sory for cheating. Honestly, tell me how to know for sure who they are just by looking at the picture.

Then you know these men are of the Harlem Hellfighters. Known to the Army as the 369th Infantry Regiment. Because the US Army didn't want to deal with black soldiers, they were given to the French as replacements.

The trick is in the leggings, which are all of American pattern (though there is some variation in the specific model). French, British, German, and Austro-Hungarian wore puttees (leg wraps).

I'll give you a hint: they're not French. (larger image for better detail)

Were there ever lafettes/scoped MGs mounted on half-tracks? Seems like they would greatly increase their effect.

Lafettes are a bit bulky for half tracks, and the mount is pretty stable as it is. Would have been a lot of work for little gain. The scope cannot be mounted directly to the MG, making a "scoped MG" not very practical at least for mounting on armored prime movers.

Or it was taken in 1939/40 on their border....

That would explain the helmets.

Tx for the pictures and I do not believe a Jagdpanther is there right? Didnt see it on the list atleast.

No, but there is a StuG III and a Hetzer. Other German vehicles include a Pz. I, Pz. IV, Panther, multiple prime movers including an Sdkfz. 251 and a Kettenkrad. There is some weird scout jadgpanzer thing from the cold war, 2 Leopard Is, a Marder IFV, a Schützenpanzer SPz 11-2 Kurz....oh...and a Borgward remote controled demolition vehicle.

I would like to see some Persing pictures if you don't mind. Outside and inside if you can make it. I would appreciate it.

Might not be this next weekend, there is a wedding at the museum (romantic, right?). I will see what I can do, though.
