Anyone knows how to put in music into loading screen? I think this is possible right? I made a folder and added ".ogg" sound file in there, but how do i tell the engine to load it? ;P

in the map folder, there should be a folder called info. In there should be a filled called ****.desc. Open it with notepad and look for where it says <music>. Write the searchpath to the music file there, example: <music> levels\warsaw_uprising\song.ogg </music>. BEWARE that the ogg file have to be in the correct format, use this tool

Awesome, Tackar  ;) Means i am almost done... Just need to get my effects to work in game as they do in editor, probobly have to place them in some specific location(?). And then just flags/kits, thats 2 seconds, then few days of balancing probobly! (Skins can be done later, while balancing goes on) :)

Both... Especially when SS was in command of the first, its pretty much impossible to devide those two, i dont know if there was any battle where SS troops were not in it? And, there are also probobly examples on SS (Like Wittman maybe, dont think he commited any so called "war crimes") that were just soldiers. If you really want to point on someone, better to focus on individuals, or groups of specific individuals, not huge group of many groups that in most cases didint even knew of eachother existance.  ;)

The SS did the vast majority of the crimes in Warsaw.  Indeed, orders went out amoungst the resistance that whilst SS were to be shot and not regarded as POWs, ALL Wehrmacht personal were to be treated as POWs and under Geneva rules.  The vast majority of the crimes were by the SS, and especially so Dirlewanger and the various Russian and Ukrainian SS units there.  As for aerial bombardments, TBH, aerial bombardments were so inherently inaccurate that they may have not meant to ever hit a hospital, but just inadvertently did.

Either way, the uprising members captured by the Wehrmacht were indeed treated well, and they did indeed get sent to proper POW camps, after the war most preferring to move to the USA or such than back to Warsaw under the communists.  Those that did move back were often soon arrested and thrown in labour camps or executed.

In the end, the point is, the Polish resistance was the ONLY resistance movement that actually followed the rules of war in WW2 on resistance movements.

I need little help, i made effects, they have their file that editor loads, but the game doesint, any ideas? That will be final add, then i will make the map avalible for testing! :)

...

Sure, its true :) Did you read Schenks testimony from first post? It is very intresting. And about hospitals... Mate, they did way worse things then bombing field hospitals, bombing hospitals were pretty much common, machine gunning civilians columns escaping the cities by luftwaffe was also common, running whole villiage into a biggest building and buring the building down with them was also common, was it done by SS only? Nope, were most of those terrible things done by SS? Most probobly, acually, some kind of statistic would be intresting, problem is that the list of war crimes might be impossible to put together as its pretty much never-ending...

not exactly,if they were captured after our loyal allies force Germans to obey Geneva rules and treated uprising members as regular captured enemy soldier and this happened nearly at the end of Warsaw uprising

Yes, most often resistance POW were simply disarmed and then taken to a closest largest building and executed. The final days of upprising was a major surrounder, and was negotiated between commanders where German one sweared (Think he was replaced just before becouse Poles refused to surrounder to the previous one) to treat uprising fighters by Geneva rules, otherwise they wouldint surrounder as they knew they would face pretty much certain death.

And how about those effects? Anyone?  8) I mean, they work in Editor, they are saved in my own folder in FH2 mod map, when i enter game... they are not there :S

Also, i got problem with emplaced weapons, like MGs, i place them in editor and when i go ingame they dissapear... what the hell? ;P

Yes, I did read it, and the guy was assigned to an engineer unit that was assigned to support Dirlewanger...the Dirlewanger were the worst of the worst of the SS, and were mass murderers of the highest order.  So of course he saw shittons of crazy stuff.

And yes, lots of bad stuff happened at Warsaw.  There were also plenty of cases of SS using civilians as shields, attacking via driving civilians in front of them, then gunning them down when the attack failed....  The battle was probably the most war crime driven in WW2....

Yes, but if you take this "Fels" from Schenks story, i dont think he was SS? And Schenk state that he was "Fels" man but in action he was under SS command. Also, i dont know but was SS in German air force aswell? As shoting civilians while they evacuate city is definetly a crime... So as you can see, it is very hard to split SS from "usual" army as they were in one big army together. Generally speaking, pointing SS as only crime makers simply isint true. I know that there is this idea about German army (Wehrmath, dont know the spelling exacly, but you know what i mean) beign innocent or something like "clean", but it is just not true, it is some kind of attempt of self-defence against the another idea that is about all Germans beign sons of war criminals, both ideas are not true. One thing is for sure, that leader of German forces overally was a war-criminal.

Well, its a long topic i guess, and like i wrote some posts up, i feel it is pointless to say "SS are war criminals" or "Wehrmath are pure", nothing is black and white. There are exemples of SS not considered as war-criminals and there are exemples of Wehrmath beign war-criminals. A lot more wise is to look into individuals, their acting, sometimes even groups, but group of individuals not groups on paper (for exemple, story of SS individual in North Africa and another SS individual in Russia, they shouldint be judged as one group). A small plutoon where people know eachother, is the only group i see that can be judged as a whole in some ways (even there, in only some ways and situations, for exemple beign passive in some situations i would count as supporting, depends on level of threat and few other factors ofcourse).

OH sure, the Heer  did plenty of warcrimes.  Mostly shooting prisoners.  The Gibergsjager were especially vicious in Yugoslavia, and in dealing with the Italians in Greece, plus there was tons of prisoner shooting in Poland and Russia.  Just, the majority of the crimes in Warsaw were SS and Luftwaffe.  And yes, the Luftwaffe did commit quite many war crimes, since it's foundation had been to be a highly Nationally Socialistic branch, since the Party was able to push many of it's supporters into it's organization.  So they had...far less concern for human life, especially those whom the party considered sub-human.

The thing I always find funny is that Hitler originally wanted an alliance with Poland, and saw them as a strong bulwark against the Soviets.  Then when they wouldn't give up Danzig, they became sub-humans. ::)

Hehe, while you mention that VonMudra, i just thinked if Hitler was playing tv games, i imagine him using aimbot and screaming out satisfaction after every kill...

And well, i have few future maps in mind allready (as this one is so close completition), since nobody is doing Polish maps out there i guess i will focus on that, i am thinking of westerplatte, maybe also uprising assault on German concentration camp for Jews in Warsaw with two captured Panthers (i have a vanilla Berlin map here in mind, something around that gameplay/layout), any other ideas? :)

Aswell, i need some help in technical things still for the map, if you know any of those please help me with solution or at least help me figure out what it is:
1. My own made effects work in editor, but they do not appear ingame.
2. I place "Objects/Emplaced" weapons, tried most MGxx and Vickers, none appeared ingame...
3. Terrain textures have many weird unnatural colours like in a disco :/
This and some other small fixes and the map is finally ready for testing! :)

He means the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw_Ghetto_Uprising

Also, I wouldn't mind at all seeing a Battle of Mokra map. ;)  Or Bzrua, or Warsaw, or Brest Litovsk, or etc etc etc x3.
