I never knew Armin  personally or really had any direct contact. However i know he had a great influence on FH. As one of the og devs i ve seen his name in many changelogs and updates to know he was important to the project as a whole.

my condolences this his friends and family

I haven't been for quite some time but i do tend to check the news from time to time.

Congrats to the team for making this mod what it is, its been a wild and fun ride.
This mod has been a big part of my gaming life for several years. Longer than anything before and after.

Thx for the great times.

might not be that funny but i found it quite interessting
http://news.yahoo.com/german-police-used-only-85-bullets-against-people-155155175.html

Quote
According to Germany's Der Spiegel, German police shot only 85 bullets in all of 2011, a stark reminder that not every country is as gun-crazy as the U.S. of A. As Boing Boing translates, most of those shots weren't even aimed people: "49 warning shots, 36 shots on suspects. 15 persons were injured, 6 were killed."

Quote
Technically, about 9,000 more shots were fired at sick and dangerous animals. (Germany, why do you kill your animals?) But since we couldn't watch the end of Old Yeller, we'll look the other way on those humanitarian shootings.

Quote
Meanwhile, in the U.S., where the population is little less than four times the size of Germany's, well, we can get to 85 in just one sitting, thank you very much. 84 shots fired at one murder suspect in Harlem, another 90 shot at one fleeing unarmed man in Los Angeles. And that was just April. So we bring you Germany's shot total in case you forgot about America shoots itself in the foot with its manic love of guns.

i love the marder

first time we tested it it was still bugged and you couldn't traverse the gun at all, and thus needed to move the whole thing to target stuff.

however the camouflage was so great i scored 5 kills before they found me.

just lovely little ambush vehicle.

as for those africa sherman, also very nice.

FH2 Help / Support / Re: Smoke Shells
« on: 21-11-2011, 10:11:46 »
most German tanks use a smoke dispenser form the engine deck or smoke launchers mounted on the turret.

while mostly American and British tanks fire actuals smoke rounds.

maybe you were in the "wrong" tank ?

if you mod any files i would recommend using the full-installer.

patching files in BF2 is also a problematic. it needs loads of free harddisk space  -> again the full-installer does not have this problem.

patching does usually work but it can have problems that the full-installer wont have.

so unless you are limited by very slow or limited Internet connection using the full-installer is always the preferred way to go.

but aiming with the schreck, specially on moving targets is hard since the shield blocks your view quite a lot.

bottom armor of tanks is always the weakest, thats why mines are so effective.

but i cant think of many instances in FH2 where i would be able to hit the bottom of a tank.

look what i wrote
panzer IV D the short barrel version has like NO armor
Front Turret: 30/10
Front Upper Hull: 30/7
Front Lower Hull: 30/12
Gun Mantlet: 35/0

2pdr cuts through that like butter up to medium range it always 1-shot  this panzer IV version. with the new angle mod you can SURVIVE 1 shot.

even the Panzer IV F1 (still short barrel)  "only" has 50mm frontal armor.
