Why on earth do they go around and dig like that in his private life?
The one is totally unrelated with the other. Just because he is gay?
I would so sue the ass of the newspapers!

I honestly can't see how any of this deserves a prison sentence. He didn't attack anyone, and he really didn't physically endanger anyone by doing what he did.

The humor of the whole thing seems dominant. I also hope the judge just shakes his head, fines him, and gives him community service or maybe a couple months in jail.

Surely, he didn't injure anyone, but he used safety devices without proper authorization. Perhaps equal to someone using fire hydrant just for fun or toying with lifeboat. I don't know what is the proper sentence for this.

That escape slide on A320 (i assume, since JetBlue operates lots of them besides E-190s) could cost up to US$ 15,000 including the gas bottle for inflation. It took roughly 3 to 5 hours to repack them into proper working condition. It seems funny, but may pisses the mechanics off, and rescheduling flights due to unexpected delays like this could potentially have minor safety impact on the overall airport operations.

BTW, I like how JetBlue handle this one.

I keep hearing about this on the radio. Apparently people don't do this often.

He may lose his job, but he will make a fortune with advertisment, jumping out of planes with Budweiser tm

I agree. Community service and/or restitution to the airline for having to fix the chute sounds reasonable to me. I mean, it's not the airline's fault that some of their passengers are pricks.

So what kind of punishment is the passenger getting for assaulting a flight attendant?

Couple months in jail evens seems outrageous. THe guy just got pissed and left, he didn't hurt anybody, it wasn't professional and I'm sure he knew he'd get fired, but it's just a more expensive way to quite your job.

Some crimes are just way to badass to get punished.

The aircraft is Embraer E-190 (thus cheaper fixing cost).

I guess the airline wouldn't mind that much. JetBlue is one of the airlines that has the nicest working condition in USA.
