« on: 01-05-2011, 12:05:18 »
BF1942 works fine, but when I connect to a server in FH1, it crashes. I tried uninstalling then reinstalling, I had the downloads running as administrator, but it still doesn't work. What the heck do I do? Btw my pc in Win 7 x64

Try running it as admin and in Win98 compatibility mode.

Why 98, why not XP? And for that matter would I be running bf1942 or FH in 98/xp mode?

Because you came here to seek help and I helped you by telling which compatibility usually helps. You can of course run it in any mode if you so desire, but I can't promise it helps.

We are talking about Forgotten Hope, so I would start by setting that to the modes explained earlier. But there's no harm in setting the bf1942 to Win 98 mode / run as admin too.

I ran it in 98 mode (right clicked on fh icon, set it to 98 etc) but it STILL crashes. For f***s sake what the hell is wrong with it? And don't tell me to reinstall it because that won't do anything I already tried.

Did you realy uninstall (deleting the fh-folder in your bf 1942 mod folder) or did you just only run the uninstall exe. Using the uninstall exe doesn't work so you have to manualy delete the fh-folder as mentioned before. Try it with this, maybe it'll help.

I'm pretty sure I did what your describing but I can't remember. I'll try again and get back to you.

Did you try it with the different comp. modes? I don't have Win Vista or 7 but there seem tobe problems with Win 7 64 bit. You should change this in the fh.exe on the desktop. You have to run this in Win 98/ME mode as explained earlier. There also seems to be problems with the resolution. The maximum resolution under win 98 is 1280x960. I don't know, whether you can understand German but when you can it, this link should be helpful.

Disable UAC before installing the game and FH.
