Suggestions / MG42
« on: 05-07-2010, 16:07:53 »
Instead of waiting for the gun to cool down after fireing for long periods of time, i am suggesting that the cool down be dropped and replaced with what happened in real life. After firing 75-150 rounds, the hot barrel of the MG42 would have to be switched out for a cool one. this would take about 7 seconds and would give the allied soldiers a little time to advance.

Off-Topic / Oldest Medal of Honor recipient has died
« on: 19-06-2010, 18:06:12 »
This is pretty late but i just found this out. On May 27, John Finn, the oldest Medal of Honor recpient died. He had earned his Medal of Honor during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
from wikipedia, Medal of Honor Citation:
Quote
For extraordinary heroism, distinguished service, and devotion above and beyond the call of duty. During the first attack by Japanese airplanes on the Naval Air Station, Kanoehe Bay, on 7 December 1941, Lieutenant Finn promptly secured and manned a 50-caliber machine gun mounted on an instruction stand in a completely exposed section of the parking ramp, which was under heavy enemy machine-gun strafing fire. Although painfully wounded many times, he continued to man this gun and to return the enemy's fire vigorously and with telling effect throughout the enemy strafing and bombing attacks and with complete disregard for his own personal safety. It was only by specific orders that he was persuaded to leave his post to seek medical attention. Following first-aid treatment, although obviously suffering much pain and moving with great difficulty, he returned to the squadron area and actively supervised the rearming of returning planes. His extraordinary heroism and conduct in this action were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service

May he rest in peace

When i get on the morters the numbers -used i guess to assist aiming- are there. After 5 seconds they blink once or twice and then turn into arrows. has anyone else been having this problem and is there a way to fix it?

Suggestions / Omaha Suggestions
« on: 10-06-2010, 00:06:03 »
I'm worried that the Devs will use me for target practice for this.
1. add more than 3 boats in the map and make them spawn points
2. put an ABC line between the bunkers and the beach to stop the Germans from taking over the beach
3. make the distance from the shore to the cliffs ridge and bunkers at least 100ft
4. if possible, add 2 planes for the allies Germans
5. if possible, add a few of the liberty ships in so they can provide a little fire
6. according to movies and other video games with Omaha beach, 0.7's depiction was pretty good i would keep a lot of it the same.

So, there are my suggestions for the (hopefully) future map. Please dont kill me.

Suggestions / Operation Chariot
« on: 07-06-2010, 03:06:23 »
As the title says i would like to see a Operation Chariot map. It shouldn't be too hard to make, the Normandy and Port en Bessin statics should be fine for St. Nazaire and everything for the British and German teams is already in FH2. The only thing that would be a problem would be the ship and that would only be a static.

From Wikipedia:

Operation Chariot, the St. Nazaire Raid, was a successful British amphibious attack on the heavily defended docks of Saint-Nazaire in occupied France; taking place during the night of 28 March 1942 during the Second World War. The operation was undertaken by the Royal Navy and Army Commandos under the auspices of Louis Mountbatten's Combined Operations Headquarters. Saint-Nazaire was targeted as the loss of its dry dock would force any large German warship in need of repairs, such as the Tirpitz, to return to home waters rather than seek safe haven on the Atlantic coast.[3]

The obsolete destroyer HMS Campbeltown, commanded by Stephen Halden Beattie and accompanied by 18 shallow draft boats, rammed the Saint-Nazaire lock gates and was later blown up ending the use of the dock. Commandos landed on the docks and destroyed other dock structures before attempting to fight their way out. Out of 611 Commandos who entered the Saint-Nazaire harbour, around only 200 succeeded in landing at the docks. All but 27 of the commandos that landed were either killed or captured: 22 escaped back to Britain in Motor Torpedo Boats and five escaped to the Spanish border. Five Victoria Crosses were awarded to men involved in the raid, which has been called The Greatest Raid of All

I Would make the map myself but Bf2editor doesnt work very well on Vista. By the way, because of this problem the 'Rise of the Soviets' mod i announced on the modding thread is canceled until ferther notice.

Suggestions / My 2nd suggestions attempt
« on: 04-06-2010, 03:06:44 »
1. Add either 'Unser Rommel' or 'Panzers Rollen Through Afrika Vor!' as the loading song for at least 1 Desert map
2. add the FG42 as a pick up kit in other maps
3. change the German Victory song to one that has been around since the 40's like 'Erika' or -if not to offensive- 'Horst Wessel Lied'
4. when i said ease up on the 2 pounders i was reffering to 'Siege of Tobruk'. there isnt a lot of cover with attacking postion and 1 shot can kill

sorry for the German Bias

« on: 27-05-2010, 23:05:49 »
On this day in 1941, German Battleship Bismarck was sunk by planes and ships of the Royal Navy. With this great ship went 1,995 Kriegsmarine sailors and -if you count the losses of the HMS Hood-1.415 British sailors.

On this Day in 1942 in Prague, Brtish trained Czech agents attacked Reinhard Heydrich using a bomb. Reinhard Died a little over a week later from his injuries.

Suggestions / A few Suggestions
« on: 28-04-2010, 01:04:49 »
1. Put 'Kilroy was Here' on a few walls.
2. Downgrade the power of the 2-pounder guns. I'm quite certain that they couldn't take out a tank with just one shot
3. Add the Sturmgewehr 44 as a spawnable kit in normandy maps (and i mean the normal version of the gun)
