BSG is quite well done, but some of the episodes did lack a bit. Especially in the final season.
All in all though those were made even by the awesome ones! I love the Pegasus episodes. Pure evil. ^^
Aye, seeing those 2 battlestars fighting like battleships and such

BSG doesnt end. Thats for sure. A new serie is going on ATm, named Caprica. And its a great succes aswel.

I hope they make a serie about the first cylon war. The war 40 years before BSG.

As a fan you've probably seen 'm already, but just in case I'd like to point out the two BSG companion movies Razor and The Plan.

Razor was far better than The Plan as a standalone movie, but The Plan worked nicely as a icing on the cake type thingy after finishing the whole darn saga. Looking forward to checking out Caprica soon.

Last movie I saw:

Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D
After my earlier rant about Paul WS Anderson in athis thread I deceided to check out his new Res Evil movie.
The previous instalment (RE: Extinction) surprised me by actually being highly enjoyable and simply a good movie. Anderson skipped on that one, but is back as a writer/director for this one, and it shows. This new one manages to destroy my new found love for the series (I was never a RE player, I just like to see Milla Jovovich in these kind of flicks) simply by doing almost everything wrong. The story is okay I guess (more Umbrella conspiracies etc.) but the execution sucks. It's like Anderson hasn't watched a movie since the original Matrix came out 11 years ago the way he still clings to slo-mo CGI shots. The movie is just a mess. No tension buildup whatsoever, just exposition followed by an obligatory effects-heavy scene/setpiece. The zombies are there just for show, as well as anyone who isn't a feisty, hot, armed-to-the-teeth female, and the 3D feels like an afterthought. Let's hope the guy is too busy for the next instalment and hires a professional.

So skip it. It's not frustratingly bad or anything, it's just a dull affair. Only for RE fans I guess... :)

No. It's no success and it isn't even scifi anymore imo. Just a bunch of religious, political and social topics on a few planets no grand fights and the nice story you got with BSG.
Don't mess with your feelings for BSG, don't watch it.

Now the first Cylon war would be grand! :)

Anyhow I promised a new review, so here it is:

Cargo a swiss scifi made in 2009.
I found it at a local store here and just took it along. Now I said that it ain't that great and it's true, as it borrows heavily from older scifi stories and even towards the end from The Matrix. But it had a low budget and for that they made a good movie. It would get a 7 of 10 from me.
Watch it. It's gritty and picks up on a good story (even though it does have the one or the other hole).
It isn't a waste of time like other movies.

I actually like it :v. Reviews say it is alot of things BSG is, expect things blowing up in space.

But ye, a serie of the first cylon war would be very nice. Fleets of battlestars fighting against Base stars..

Caprica for those who loved the Political/religous debates
A first cylon war Serie for those who loved the space battles, scifi...and space battles  :)

I liked both but Caprica just takes it to the brink of boring.

Anyone seen the old BsG series?   Are they worth watching?  Ive seen the BsG movie from 1980, about the first cylon war, but it sucks and it doesnt contain much of that war. That movie reminds me more of
 "Space: 1999" unfortunately.
I also agree Starbuck from the new series is slightly annoying, the original Starbuck is Face from the old A-team, he suits alot better imo. Its weird how they changed him to a woman, and Boomer is changed from a black guy to a oriental women. I dont think Razor was much to brag about either, the beginning was very cool, but the end was too "Space 1999". I think the "hybrids" lying in their bathtubs in 60's surroundings are alittle too much, but acceptable since the rest of the series is so damn good :)

The origenal BSG where actually pretty popular. Those days, series like BSG, star wars/trek where imense popular, But they cancelled BSG for not so good view rates....entirly caused because of this=

Quote
In mid-April 1979, ABC executives canceled the show. An AP article reported, "The decision to bump the expensive Battlestar Galactica was not surprising. The series ... had been broadcast irregularly in recent weeks, attracting slightly over a quarter of the audience in its Sunday night time slot."[7] Larson has claimed that it was a failed attempt by ABC to position its number one program Mork & Mindy into a more lucrative timeslot.[8] (The ratings for Mork & Mindy plummeted far below what they had been for Battlestar Galactica.) The cancellation led to viewer outrage, protests outside ABC studios, and even contributed to the suicide of Edward Seidel, a 15-year-old boy in Saint Paul, Minnesota who was obsessed with the program

They where very nice for its days, but BSG Re-imagined is far better imo. Decisions like projectile weapons on the galactica/raptors and such where very good decisions, and also the inclusion of the Fall of the 12 colonies was great.

The DVD box of the old BSG is pretty popular. for 10 euro you have 20 episodes of good old old-skool sci-fi viewing

Milla Jovovich
That's automatically at least 3/5 right there.

But yes, I did enjoy the three other films, so I'm going to see this one too.

Small Time Crooks.
A Woody Allen farce I recorded on the off chance it would be good.
It was silly and farcical but some great acting and I enjoyed it, 7.5/10!

I was caught off guard by one scene and was in stiches. This actress was playing a dumb/ low IQ role and was a look out during a dinner party as W.A. tried to open a safe upstairs.
Lots of silly lines "talk about the weather or something.." and great deadpan acting by her!  ;D

Will have to look out for more of his films...

You might like last year's Whatever Works. I'm not that fond of Woody Allen movies (I have had Manhattan in my DVD collection for years but still haven't watched it...), but somehow this one worked for me.

Battlestar Galactica-Razor
9/10
After finishing BSG, i was amazed. However, left with a hunger for MOAR

Then i found out their are 2 television movies :D ;D

Razor tells the story of Battlestar Pegasus, her Commander Cainand her right hand Kendra Shaw. About the Pegasus during the Attack of the 12 colonies, her lucky escape from scorpio's shipyards, and her guerilla war. About Cain's life during the first cylon war, about William adama during the first cylon war and more

Seeing Razor made my hunger even greater. Honestly, they NEED to make a serie dedicated to the first cylon war. We wanna see battlestars in action!

Up

Saw this new Pixar movie yesterday.

Best animated movie since monsters inc.

A pretty typical storyline, but I felt the soul put into the movie (which IMO is rare in todays animated movies. Shrek has just become a money-maker).
In the beginning, when you get to follow the mans life, I actually shed a tear in the end when his wife got sick.

Was also pretty funny, loved Russel. Of course, it had to have the typical side-story: A really cute and nice child is actually very alone and has a abscent father, but can't really accept it. Ends happily with the lone man taking the role as his father.

Really beautiful movie. I recommend everyone to watch it.

9/10
I see were you are trying to reach: "how can a 17 year old kid have such a thinking like this? why doesnt he wants to be like normal teens who whana get rich? and his plan actually makes sense, but is too damn revolutionary and good at the same time than is still doubthfull if it works..." - Damaso
