I agree with Fuchs.

A conversation that would take 5 days suddenly takes 5 minutes. If the game gave you the ability to send the same message to several players with ease, than that would be a different thing. But the message system is kinda too complicated.

(besides, IRL couldn't the kings of countries meet up and discuss things in person?)
I see were you are trying to reach: "how can a 17 year old kid have such a thinking like this? why doesnt he wants to be like normal teens who whana get rich? and his plan actually makes sense, but is too damn revolutionary and good at the same time than is still doubthfull if it works..." - Damaso

Nah, that only happens now ;D Though perhaps we should make a compromise for the people who disagree by saying that if you have a conference outside the game, you have to say that you had it in the DE.

Perhaps not a large one, but I have chatted with the leader of A-H quite a few times

Yes, I use outside of game communications. And I can't understand how it is cheating. If I have something important to say, but one who I'd like to tell something is offline, I dispatch message. If he is online, we might have long discussion about our stretegy and usually  we talk things so depthly, it would not be possible with ingame message system. I actually find ingame message system quite clumsy to use.

Edit: From roleplay view, I would say this is more like leaders of nations meeting up or having phone discussion (if they ever did that  :P).

Yeah same here, it's not cheating.

I do consider sabotaging to be a bit cowardly/cheating though, as that directly destroys your enemy. Intelligence-spying is not the same thing as you do not destroy anything for your opponent, only gather information.

I'm not saying that we should put a rule against it, I'm just opposed to it (haven't ever sent a spy on a sabotage mission)

If you have kept the game running, there is a refresh button at the top right. ;)

Since Sweden took Rome instead of the Italians: there is a function to trade provinces.  You can trade it for anything.  I think you can only give up 4 provinces per game, though.  Probably something to prevent cheating by having your buddy make a quick account and give you all his provinces right away...

We are aware of that.
"Force answers force, war breeds war, and death only brings death.
To break this vicious circle one must do more than act without thought or doubt."
