Man this looks awesome!

Would be neat if all those epic mapping projects would be finished and someone would set up a custom map server, but thats just wishful dreaming ;-)

Looking forward to playing this map though. Hope someone takes it into his rotation.

Btw, does anyone know a good custom map server? PM me if necessary.

Would be neat if all those epic mapping projects that recreate a historic battle (ie. no SPR), meet certain quality criteria (ie. not "my first attempt, a 4km x 4km teh complete battle of Kursk"), and raise the interest of fans and devs alike, are picked up for official testing and eventually incorporated into official releases.

Now that I've been cured of dyslexia, this map might be one of those ;)

I would leave air support out of this map, it looks like a nice tanks + infantry maps with alot of ambushing stuff.

from what information i have gathered the battle was concerning the outskirts of carentan and the attack on hill30, that is what this map is about

The battle of Bloody Gulch is the defense of Carentan by American Paratroopers against SS and FJG forces. After the Germans broke through, the Americans were rescued by tanks arriving from Omaha Beach.

The Americans never used the 25 pd afaik. Also, I doubt that the Shermans arriving at Carentan had the 76mm cannon. The Germans also didn't have Panthers, but mostly StuGs and perhaps Panzer IVs.

The SS division at the Gulch was the 17th SS Panzergrenadier Division, They had quite poor equipment lacking Half tracks and their Panzer battalion was armed with StuG IV.

Seams like the 17th lacked a lot of stuff, they did however have bikes :D

Well, from the sources I have read there seem to have been no other Panzer units even engaging the American forces at that time. However I'm not god and after all its you map.
