It was one of the first clashes in europe,

Apart from all those other ones between 1939 and Jan 17th 1944

The sides were Britain and Germany.

And Italians on both sides, and Poles, and New Zealanders, and Americans, and French, and Moroccans, and Algerians, and Indians, and Canadians, and South Africans.  But hey, fuck those guys right?

The goal is a normal map assault .

Hey, let's just ignore that the Campaign for Monte Cassino was a series of multiple incredibly brutal battles that featured multiple armed forces fighting over various portions of the front in a multi-month campaign that is general broken down into 4 major "battle" events, however of those, each are broken down by historians into a series of other battles that make up the larger scale 'battles'.  Let's just have some normal assault mode map where it takes 1 minute to walk from the town up to the monastery, with no attention to detail, to the scope of the campaign and it's place in the history of so many nations, or to the thousands to gave their lives in the many, many battles that were fought in that area.  Let's just rush out something that, to do properly, would have to have the full scope of all the Normandy maps currently in FH2!

I guess its the girly Mudra time of the Month.

PMS tends to do that.

Woman tend to be aholes when that time comes. I guess Mudra acts the same.   ::)

PS: Just kidding. But the topic creator is probably a new and young member that is only playing FH2 for a couples of days and does not have much WW2 knowledge.

But at least he knows that there was such battle!  :P

Ah, relating to this battle, I dream to make it by myself one day with great monastery static, obviously created also by me! Ah, those dreams...  ;)

Mudra man,

One of my Grandfathers was involved in the fighting around Monte Cassino and I'm not so offended by this (naïve, yes but) innocent post. Such animosity is hardly going to encourage new people to engage in this community and keep it alive.

A map could ofcourse be made as a tribute and also provide some fresh gameplay. I don't see there is something big against it. Might as well make all the logistics that was involved if you're so deep into historical accuracy. It's not being done for a reason and that reason applies to this concept.

And it would be really nice to see Polish flag waving over that monastery once again in this game!  8)

Here you go maxpetro.

Just to bring this thread full circle, here is a really good documentary on Monte Cassino:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MP_PSPNUUfY

Narrated by a Brit, which gives it a bit of class.

For future reference, make sure you do your homework before posting on these forums.

Ive seen threads where some of these guys actually argue about tank shell velocity.

which is really gay....
 ;)
