Thanks Hi, going to a cinema movie night with a good friend (men only, beer and burgers are there, that sort of thing.) and they show both Captain America and Horrible Bosses. We liked the latter one but where in doubt when we read about the first one. Now I'm quite sure I can sit through it.

Semi-related to the thread; they're remaking Total Recall... with Colin Farrell.

What. The. Fuck.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1386703/

/Edit: and the 3 boobed woman won't be in it!!

I demand 3 boobed woman, as we europeans cut half of the violence anyway.  ;D

Whatever.

Everyone Else (2009)(original title: Alle Anderen): 4/5
Gitti and Chris are an unconventional couple on holiday in Sardinia. While Gitti is rather boyish and excentric, Chris is a rather sensible male. Together they make a good couple. Someday Chris is meeting one of his colleagues who spends his holidays together with his wife on Sardinia as well. This other couple is totally conventional, living a traditional assignment of roles in their lifes. However, the colleague considers Chris to be rather weak and wimpy, spuring him to live and fulfill a more masculine role in his life. Chris is trying to live up to these expectations, competing against his colleague while Gitti is pressing herself into a totally traditional female role. In the end, they rather fulfill the expectations of society then, but losing their own personality, becoming what they most despise about others. Those new personalities are not what they originally seeked in each other, bring their own relationship to the brink of collapse.

If you live your life with rather traditional role allocations, you might consider this movie unreal and boring. You might rather identify with the traditional couple, not understanding what is so funny and boring about the conventional couple being poked fun at. But if you're somewhat queer, you'll understand all those taunts about traditional gender roles. In the end this is some kind of encouragement to be like you really are instead of being what society expects you to be.

Hobo with a Shotgun (2011) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1640459/

Heavily influenced by Sin City, Running Man and some others, this grindhouse movie rocks. Only a fake trailer at first, accompanying the Grindhouse look when Death Proof and Planet Terror were released. It delivers what it promises, and Rutger Hauer is almost perfect. Lots of different lighting, fast cuts, heavy close-ups, color, and red/blue filters. Instant cult classic. Very gory ;D, slapstick, more gore, yet, not without a message. Wouldn't we all like to be this hobo sometimes. With a shotgun! Flippy will like this: There be bears in this one. A well deserved 8/10

The director is somewhat of a talent. He's one of 26 directors making a 26-segment (horror)-movie about the many ways we kick the bucket. Seems a script contest is on as well, but a quick search didn't offer any good info.

Hobo with a Shotgun   - 7/10 -        Pretty much what Gezoes say, i guess i would prefer alittle more advanced plot or something idk. But still a great movie.

Transformers 3            - 3/10-         Terrible movie. Shitty plot, annoying characters trying to be funny for kids, extremely unrealistic, even too much for such a movie. For an old
transformers fan from the 80s as myself its cool to see the childhood heroes in a real movie with expensive effects, but also annoying how they have
changed and destroyed them completely. The only positive thing is some entertaining but not unique effects.
(A very personal very positive thing regarding this movie is that i saw it in downtown Chicago. Very cool to know a huge battle was faught right
outside the walls of the cinema, and afterwards go out to the place which was totally devastated in the movie.)

Fast Five                     -3/10-          I hate such movies. A movie that have nothing to offer except a few half spectacular car chases i turn away from. If i didnt have limited selection of
movies at an almost 8 hour long flight i would never have seen this movie.

Battle: Los Angeles      -7/10-          I really like sci fi, but this isnt much to brag about. I was very entertained from effects and a few very cool futuristic all around combat fighter planes,
thats pretty much what this movie have to offer. Its like the sci-fi version of Black hawk Down, with tons of shooting around very short simple
strategic details. I almost get tired of this endless meaningless shooting. But for me, just beeing a sci fi movie raises the score with 2 points.
If you liked BHD you really should see this one.

Thor                           -7/10-          Never heard about the comic before. Alittle exciting, mostly funny and quite spectacular, this movie was surprisingly better than i thought. Maybe i like
it alittle more since its one of few movies about norse mythology, though it was extremely incorrect and presented as a joke. And if anyone isnt sure
what kinda movie this is, its a super hero movie. Imo . Basicly i hate super hero movies, but this one was quite intresting. I like the humor aswell. Not
really what they say, but how Thor uses his hammer, how they figth etc.

Source Code                -8/10-          This is alot more than a straight forward movie. It takes a long time before you really understand whats happening. Its "science" sounds utterly
bullshit thats a minus. But its very mysterious, so it gets exciting just to try to figure out whats really happening. Its hard to describe without
revealing anything, but maybe it can be called a thriller version of Inception with elements of David Lynch and Fight Club. I recommend this one. Its
better than it appears, at least.

Just watched the movie In Bruges on the recommendation of a friend.

It was absolutely the BEST FUCKING MOVIE that I have ever seen!!!  I urge everybody to go watch it right now!

It's about two hitmen staying in Bruges for a few weeks after a hit, but of course all hell breaks loose and it turns into a fight for their lives.   Collin Farrell and Brenden Gleeson play the two hitmen, Farrell a twitchy young guy and Gleeson is cool headed intellectual, they work together beautifully. Ralph Fiennes plays their sadistic but hilarious boss.  I especially loved that Gleeson and Farell used their native Dublin accents, being from Dublin myself.

The movie was the funniest movie that I have ever seen, with more great quotes than ever.  It was also tremendously dark, with a sort of Pulp Fiction-Tarentino quality to it.  A dark tragicomedy.  Best movie I have ever seen, absolutely my new favourite.  I'm going to buy it as soon as I can, it's a movie I'm planning on rewatching time and time again.  Going to watch it again today too!

So there's a movie I have now seen twice in one week.

The thing is, that I was so sure this movie was gonna suck so the first time around I just was chocked. Now the second time around, yeah it's good and worth a watch.

The movie is...

  X-Men: First Class

Seriously, I'm still amazed over how much I enjoyed this movie.

Hot chicks, 60's theme, Cuban Missile Crisis, Mutants and some really good actors (Michael Fassbender as Memento, Jesus Christ!)

I really don't want to say too much, I really liked it, and as I said, even watched it twice!

Battle:LA

Okay..Admitted

This movie has a nice opening. And rather nice special effects.

thats the good part

The bad part?

A Super cliche story, a typical "OMG ALIENS INVADE US AND THEY ARE KICKING OUR ASSES LIKE ITS NOTHING AND OMG BUT YEAH WE"RE AMERICANS MARINES UUURRAAH SO YEAH LIKE SUDDENTLY WE DO HEROIC THING AND SHOOT DOWN ONE THING WICH CONNECTS ALL THE OTHER ALIENS AND LIKE WE WIN UUURRAAHHHH

Dont get me wrong, i love these kinds of alien invasion movies...but this

Furthermore...The "Aliens" are so fucking Badly done. The things they fly, the weapons they operate...Way to human.

5.5/10
A plus one to beautifull mexican laaayyddie Michelle Rodriguez

The Trip (2010)

Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon.

Steve is asked to review different restaurants in the north of England. Because his sort of GF is in the USA he askes Rob to go with him on the week-long trip. The movie is mostly set during the dinners and the trips between the restaurants.

Had some good laughs. British humor is always good. The impresinations of James Bond and Michael Caine are realy funny!
Its clear there is also some drama. 2 people in midlife cause that. I think the movie does not need that.

7/10 (I did not know this before watching but the movie is a shorter cut up version of a tv series.)
The Moon is opposing Jupiter. Don't get involved, it's their problem.
