I've found the AMX38 to be a pretty decent tank!, so far i have been doing a great job on Tier III battles. I will keep it, i get a few kills each battle and that helps a lot.

My only fear is to get involved in battles up to Tier V or face a Marder II, heh.

I don't know what it is about 0.8.0, but I've played it 3 times and it's completely frozen my computer 3 times.  Properly frozen, as of the ctrl-alt-del doesn't work so mash the power button kind of frozen.

Also, yeah I think we are embroiled in whatever massive war is going on now.

Something to do with Havok and Doughnuts. Although weve been getting hammered by them for 2 weeks and i still havent seen a single pastry. I am dissapoint...

And allways remember guys, join the "Forgotten Hope Community" Channel in the game. Corvax, corsair and me are hanging around there. I will reopen it after every serverrestart.

blue, in which clan are you?
Oh what the fuck! Your telling me you're playing WoT again and I didnt know!? These days, man.

Anyway, 0.8.0.

Apart from the pain in the arse tech tech I really like this update. Of course this is coming from the CT version where I can actually afford the shit I want. Cant imagine grinding for anything atm (esp since the new russian TDs got properly shafted midway through the CT).

Again? humbug never stopped. Noobs never do ;). But the lost couple of months I started to play again I noticed there is still a small core that still plays regularly.

But 8.0 is awesome. The tanks feel a bit more like tanks now. Driving over small humps just feel so much better in a heavy tank  :) And the gun sounds are way better although for some tanks they sound way off.

Seems like the OS based limitations are gone. I can use max texture detail on Windows 32-bit, contrary to prior versions. After about 10 battles I get a notification that I ran out of memory and the game will need a restart. If I don't restart, the game crashes to desktop. I guess I can consider this a feature.

I love the new physics and broke my first track already when jumping off a cliff. :P

However the sounds worsen for me. The tracks sound like a contamination meter for radiation in Stalker. I was like omg, radiation, get the heck out of here. Then I got used to the track sound, but getting the feeling of constantly being followed by another tank, as the track sound comes from far behind.

I usually imagine my own sounds with it, like `tjunk, tupdieyupdiedee` aaa enemy spotted, ratatatataboom

Then I got used to the track sound, but getting the feeling of constantly being followed by another tank, as the track sound comes from far behind.

I got the same feeling, now I'm always looking behind me to see who is following me...only to see that there's no one...

So after testing this new version more deeply this evening I really enjoy only half of this version. The physics is nice, it was really annoying to get stuck with your scout because of some small rock or whatever...however I carelessly charged some enemy, only to get destroyed because he was heavier. Need to adapt a bit ;D

I also feel like there's a lot more of smacktards bumping you with lighter tanks only so you have some penalty with silver and xp....

Graphics : hmmm meh ok so now I have 10 more fps even with advanced graphics but....I can't turn shadows ON so everything looks damn bright, especially the tanks. So for me it's really a step backward.

Tech tree : why change something that wasn't broken ?

Sounds : it seems I now have a potato gun on my Pz38(t).

Also got this "out of memory" message...at least that's better than with previous version when suddenly I had full neon-green screen at loading screen and sniper view ???

The new Pz IV loadout seems ok. I feared the gun would be useless but I still can penetrate enemies from the front...only encountered Tier 5 as of now though.

Well happy to hear I'm not only one with sound problems. Track sound always seems to come from left and engine sound from right.

So far, I haven't noticed any big changes to gameplay. Once some IS pushed my brother from cover and took the place for himself, so only one negative experience about physics so far.

It depends on the maps, but it really is a huge advantage that you can now simply slide off plateaus and run away with minimum or no damage, instead of being stuck there like in previous versions.

The only thing they need to implement now is shell absorbsion. If I hit a scout tank with my StuG E-100's 17cm shell I want it to be thrown away by the force.

Speaking of which, the StuG E-100 is lots of fun after the 8.0 buffs. They really improved the gun (aiming time, accuracy and reload) which makes it very deadly as long as it has friendly tanks to prevent enemies from flanking. Think I had something like 14 wins and 4 defeats on it yesterday, playing alone.

I don't get along with the new Panzer IV. Always ended up as scout in tier 7 battles. The gun is just a pain. How are you expected to fight a KV-1 or a T1 HT with it? I think about moving the crew to the VK2800. That has no gun either, but at least it got some speed.

I also found somebody stuck, so don't try this at home:
