On a related matter. Is there going to be some sort of fix for the axis tank sights?
Now they are less useful and more difficult for estimating distances than allied sights that have a distance scale.
It should be the other way around so that axis sight is easier, faster and more accurate for adjusting distances.
If it is not possible to add the setting-of-distance to axis sights, how about adding some artificial scale to the side or something.

Last time i checked FH2 didnt have hundreds of thousand soldiers in-game.
After all this arguments boils down to how everyone perceives WW2 to be like and which aspects they want to emphasize. I could now list features that i don't see fitting WW2 theme but I rather not...

Cos a PR:WW2 would play out more like WW2 then you can ever try forcing FH2 to do.

In that case he would probably rather take part in FH2, where he is among other people with interest and skill ;)

Isn't it quite obvious that FH2 is not going to be any more realistic that it now is. So if someone wants to have something more, like Vicious, well perhaps they could check that PR stuff out.

And i am not sure how extensive that ww2 mod would be. I would imagine that it would make sense to make it like any other faction, just new skins, few more weapons and perhaps use some known maps if it is allowed at first and later add tanks and what not...

there may be a demand, but thaqt doesn't mean that the people in that thread have any kind of skill to fullfill it.

That might be true which was part of the reason to post this stuff here, if someone with interest and skill might take part in that project.

I doubt that mod will be going anywhere. Look at the end of the thread, the people attempting to do this are basically amateurs without much of a plan or know how.

Everybody has to start somewhere, right?

I would imagine that there is demand for somewhat realistic/immersive WW2 game with 3D voip and I would not wonder if some RnL and DH clans would expand to that once they realize that they can act out their realism stuff more intensively in that kind of environment.

If you haven't yet noticed, there are some PR community members that are planning a PR:WW2 stuff:

It kinda makes more sense to do a WW2 mod/add-on for PR than a FH2 realism/immersion mod, cos even if you pull off a mod for FH2, there just won't be enough players to man some mini-mod servers. On the other hand PR has 10 times the more players, so they might even be able to pull it off...

I suppose i agree with the OP aka with you on some matters.

On top of those things that i mentioned, i would like to see as well:

- A way to set the distance for the axis tank optics, or some work-around for it. Now it just plain sucks trying to estimate the distance without any vertical lines like allies have and the ability to dial in the distance.

What I would like to see is:
- Battleground Frontline type driving = more immersive than current system. Now it feel that you are the tank itself, while the BGF makes it feel like you are _in_ the tank.
- Possibility for the commander to use binocs while in the tank, naturally others would see the commander sticking out of the cupola and he could be shot when doing this.

Didn't the No Man's Land have some tweak for this problem? Like there is a separate key for bayonet strike which actually is just weapon change with no animation + strike combined. Or perhaps i understood wrongly what NML guys talked in their thread at the modding section...

Alright. Complete re-install of BF2 and FH2 seems to have fixed it for now. I hope i don't have to do this every week to be able to play FH2 :-/

I've been getting this error msg (topic name) for most (95%) of the FH2 and BF2 servers for the past 3-4 days.

I've been googling it and it might be cos of punkbuster cos my firewall is not blocking anything related to bf2. I've been trying to manually update PB but everytime the test phase gives me:

Checking firewall settings         OFF
Is PnkBstrA explicitly allowed?
C:\Windows\system32\PnkBstrA.exe   NO
Is PnkBstrB explicitly allowed?
C:\Windows\system32\PnkBstrB.exe   NO

Which i think should be the problem. Although the test gives me clean bill of health in the end.
I've been googling this "error" but i have not yet found a workable fix for my pc.
If i understood it right the problem is win7 + pb. I do not have those files in here C:\Windows\system32\ but those files are in the C:\Windows\syswow64\  cos it is some win7 64bit thingy. I tried moving them there and giving them firewall access and admin rights, no luck.

Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone know how to fix this?

I run win 7 64bit and MSE is my firewall and i should have everything allowed there that should be allowed. BF2 and FH2 worked just fine not that long ago and i don't know what changed this.

Oh, btw, try the mod without AA. I am not sure but 9600Gt might be tad bit too weak to run with that much AA. And for general purpose, reduce all video settings as low as possible and see if the problem persist.

Nicely done video to show the problem.  Sadly i don't know what is doing that but i will ask few obvious questions, does BF2 produce the same problem? How about other games? Have you tried another mouse perhaps? Have you checked ( by logging) if some component (cpu, gpu, ram, hdd) is hitting 100% usage when you turn the mouse in FH2?

That desktop shortcut is just a shortcut to FH2.exe at your BF2 main folder:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\FH2.exe"
Just drag that file to the desktop with right mouse button and choose "create shortcuts here".
