The oldest of the panzers
« on: 17-01-2010, 01:01:25 »
I wonder why the grandfather of panzer family isn´t on FH or FH2.
All the Panzers are on the mod, except the Panzer I.And I strongly believe it was widely used in early WWII.
It would be nice for taking out infantry.

Pz1's were most numerous during the Polish and French campaigns, where they generally tended to die horribly. If FH2 ever gets to these, then it would be a worthwhile addition, but not really in later campaigns. Some were shipped to Afrika Korps, and these were replaced with Pz2's as soon as possible. Pz1 did see use in the Balkans campaign, so maybe could be used in Olympus (if 9th Panzer still had them at the time). Was again used in small numbers in Barbarossa, where it was finally deemed totally obsolete and unsuitable for Eastern Front anyway.

Pretty much at the end of 1941 they were obsolete. Most were converted in variants.

It could be used for Greece, early North Africa (like 1941), and 38 Panzer 1 C types saw action in Normandy 1944

Would it be possible to give them armour piercing bullets?  I don't know much about how their ammo worked, but I remember reading in The Battle for Spain him mentioning about the Pz. I's armour-piercing bullets in tank battles.  I don't know if all their bullets were like that or not, but if they were a specialty it would be cool to throw them in.

Not sure on that, but IIRC, the Panzer 1C (for Normandy) used a strange semi-auto anti-tank rifle and its single MG.

Early WW2 tanks are the most fun to play with :)
Panzer 1's would be sweet, and would make this mod even more unique.

Don't be rediculous...we can't have panzer 1, they are too weak and would obviously deteriorate everything thing this mod is about...German Bias...obviously... ::)

They have anti-tank machine gun ammo, it was used in the Spanish Civil War.  I read a book.  I hope that is correct.

I know A7V is the oldest german tank, but I mean "modern" or Panzers that were made after the Versailles treaty was broke.
In better therms,nazi panzers.
