I like the idea that ammocrates are rare in FH, but the problem is: I dont always find them :P.
Can somebody put some markers on the maps to show me where they are?

Usually near howitzers, mortars and rocket launchers.
-
In bunkers and trenches.

Just try to imagine where you would place an ammocrate when you would have been in WW2. Mostly every flag has one.

I have to agree with the OP some flag markers would be nice. Some of the flag areas encompass a lot of buildings and there seems to be no standard as to where they are placed. Sometimes it's in a barn, sometimes it's in a house and sometimes it's beside a pickup kit. Doesn't really help when your scrambling about looking for a brown box very similar to other brown boxes because you need another panzerfaust for that second sherman coming in. So please add some markers on the map devs!

Look for those on the ground. African maps seem to use the smaller, green ammo boxes, while Normandy maps seem to use the longer, wood-colored ones. They are usually placed near flag zones.
I think markers on the map are unnecessary. Ask in game if you really need them, someone is bound to know where they are. Also remember that trucks and APCs (even enemy ones) give you ammo as well.

To add, destroyed APC's/Trucks also replenish ammo as long as their "husks" are still there. Not sure if this is an intended feature, but take full advantage of it especially with single-shot weapons like the panzerfaust.

not intended but the thing that supplied ammo only "dies" when the wreck explodes, not when the vehicles is "destroyed".
