Yesterday i was quadleader at villers bocage, i snuck near point 213 where is a mg42 overwatching farm and the windmill. So in a moment of bravery i run up there and planted a s-mine.


1 minute later i TK'd a squadmember because i forgot to tell i planted it there, and he had just spawned on me  .
O well, mg detroyed.

One Mine on the wall. at about head height, and another one on the AT obstacle. Any enemy who just scans the ground won´t notice them.

Generally the best spots are narrow choke points that are in areas where the enemy is more likely to advance than a friendly.

I remember in forgotten honor getting my squad to all go recon and make a minefield covering our flank. It was ridiculously effective.

And remember, it really never helps but sometimes, rarely it helps:

Write in the Team Chat in big letters: AP MINE PLACED AT X

But it can save lives. Sometimes.

About teamkills with those.
Why not include map markers like in PR?
In PR, when you drop a mine, you only get one voice command on the commo-rose, and this voice command also puts a (temporary) marker on the map where you dropped your mine.
Would allow cautious players who check their map to avoid friendly mines, and wouldn't make mineflags on tank mines useless either as those can be seen without bringing up the map every 5 seconds.

The markers can be temporary (and are in PR, as I said in my post).
Even if they only last a few minutes, thats enough for most players to remember their rough position later, and enough to save lives when used close to friendlies.

Not necessarily a flag, but I'd have thought that markers might have been improvised in the field IRL. *Looks at Von Mudra*
