^Indeed. Can´t wait for the second (and last) part.
OT:
Just finished Battle: Los Angeles
Cheesy, boring and very "Hollywood"-ish: Lots of explosions, lots of cheesy dialogue and a very simple plot.
3/10
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

Watched the Deathly Hallows part 1. By far the best Harry Potter film by now. Also the most loyal to the novel, perhaps because they decided to split in into two parts. Great decision, in my opinion.

4/5

I just watched the half blood prince 20 mintues ago.
So far the worst of the series.
Felt stale, confusing and too many "loose strings" throughout the movie.

4/10

Oh and in star wars, I'm shocked that all of you seem to like Episode 2 better than ep 1. I really like ep 1, except for anakin and binks. Qui-gon is the most awesome jedi ever existed.

Apparently, the French haven't heard of a happy ending.  :D

Edit: I was wrong.

I just love King Kong

The original from '33 has been one of my favorite movies for a long time

Peter Jacksons King Kong is also good, it's great actually and full of small references to the old original through out the movie.

So I took a chance and watched the "Extended" version. What a ripoff! A bunch of small scenes here and there and just one new "segment"

I thought it was gonna be like Lord of the Rings and its extended scenes were you almost every time went "OMFG!"

Fail extend, still a good movie though.

Same here. I loved the theatre cut of Jackson's Kong, and was pretty psyched when the director's/extended cut came out. But it turned out that it was just more CGI-showing off. It simply didn't add anything at all, only a few more panicky-slash-slapsticky survival scenes. But indeed, the overall movie is still pretty awesome and I keep wanting Kong to win at the end... :(

Last movie I saw:

Battle: Los Angeles

I have to admit, I left the theatre liking this movie a lot more than I wanted to. I knew about all the bad press it got so I was kinda prepared for a Transformers 2-like debacle but apart from a slow, cliché-ridden start it wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Okay, I could've done without the insecure, whiny marines at the beginning but once that first "OMG, we're trained killers but we're kinda nervous so we do dumb things" bit is over it finds its form.
Its form being a mash-up of Independance Day and Black Hawk Down, ie. a simple grunt-level take on an alien take-over. It respects it's genremovie roots by proudly wearing its warmovie clichés and not wasting time with any backstory. The viewer knows as much as the marines the movie follows. And for me that was what saved the movie: it didn't pretend to be a big scale vanilla summer movie that tries to please everybody, or a thinking man's blockbuster, it's just a trashy warmovie with a slightly above average budget. Sure, it hasn't got a thing on man-vs-alien movies like Aliens, Starship Troopers or District 9, but it looks good, the action scenes are nicely done and I liked that whole steampunk alien design aspect.

So I can get why people would hate it, but the sci-fi nerd in me enjoyed it for what it was . 6/10

Just finished Scott Pilgrim vs.the world:
Pretty crazy, yet highly entertaining movie. It really entertained me the whole time, something not many movies can do. The style of the different fights was cool, it had pretty funny one-liners and even though the first few minutes were a bit weird it was worth watching it.
Also Kim, Ramona and Scotts sister were cute.
7/10
EDIT:
Also watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail for the first time.
Quite crazy, too, but also really hilarious. The characters are really great, for example the "revolutionary peasant" or the unfriendly Frenchman.
Definately a 8/10

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

6/10

it was enjoyable, but the previous movies where much better

Johnny depp's acting remains solid though.
-i am fairly sure that if they took porn off the internet, there would only be one website left and it would be called bring back the porn "Perry cox, Scrubs.

Really? Parts 2 and 3 were horribly bloated, uninspired and loud CGI fests, and this new one's even worse?
That's a shame. I kinda had hopes for this one, that they would somehow realise the way they were going was, well, not the way to go.  :-) But will check it out anyway, 'cause I still dig Depp, although he should return to "acting" instead of goofing around for millions of dollars. But then again, who could blame him.... ;)

Saw Fast & Furious 5 last week. Didn't expect much, since it's part 5 of a series I'd only seen part 1 of, but I must admit there's little wrong with it. Sure, it's cliché tough guy movie making, but the cast seem to enjoy themselves, the story is actually kind of entertaining and the car-scenes look impressive (destroying stuff with cars never gets old, ever). Cool to see Vin Diesel back in form, even if he's a one-trick pony. He still has quite the screenpresence and I can't help be in awe of The Rock everytime I see that guy in a movie. He makes Diesel look like a scrawny frat boy and to see them square off is simply a delight.

If they'd have brought back Michelle Rodriguez I would rate it higher, so for now it's simply good action fodder: 6/10

I liked the first one a lot.

Watching the second and third, it became almost too obvious that they are made by disney. A bit too childish and stupid for my taste, as well as too much focus on Johnny Depp (without him they wouldn't have made even one sequel).
