I had the same problem with flux, so i turn it off whenever I play. Although I am not an experienced player, I am not a beginner either, so I think I can give you my tips: If a soldier is at a medium distance or far away, check out the minimap, zoom in or out if necessary. If a soldier is at a short distance, determine if he is a friend or a foe by recognizing the uniform (ww2 uniforms are usually easy to distinguish, compared to modern uniforms), looking at the minimap in close quarters takes too long. When manning a static weapon or a tank (you shouldn't be driving a tank on a multiplayer game if you recently installed the mod) you can "spot" an unknown soldier to distinguish between friend or foe. If a red arrow appears on the minimap in the direction you are aiming to, he is an enemy, if instead a question mark appears on top of a blue arrow, he is a friend.
