Developement of Forgotten Hope 2 http://fhmod.org version control repository visualized with Gource http://code.google.com/p/gource/

This shows how the file structure of FH2 evolved from first days of 2.0 developement till 2.45. Each little dot represents a single file. This might give you an idea how many different files we have to deal with when developing FH2...

Care to explain some of the events?

For example, what was the process tree added at 3:41... that then disappeared completely just under a minute later?

Also, what made the whole thing "fling around" at 4:52? Was the foundation of the mod somehow radically changed?

At 4:52 we added the maps to our repository. Previously they had been on a separate FTP. Not sure what happened at 3:41.

Very cool. I once saw something lik this at my work but each comit connection had a profile image of the person responsible. It's quite interesting to see people interacting and then the lone wolf sound guy on the end of the project working away All alone :D
