Some Italian love
« on: 04-08-2015, 23:08:03 »
Since our news updater is on vacation, I thought I'd do a small devblog. In this thread it was suggested to include the Semovente 75/18 assault gun to beef up the Italians a bit.

http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=20296.0

Luckily, it turns out the FH1 version by Montoya is of quite high quality:

Because of that, Stubbfan decided to port this vehicle over to FH2:

It will be available on Gazala and El Alamein.

This assault gun was inspired by the German StuGIII, which had proven very effective at supporting infantry. Sporting a 75mm howitzer, it was also pressed into the tank hunter role by the Italian army, which was terminally short of effective anti tank equipment. The Semovente series were arguably the most successful Italian armored vehicles of the war. This version was first used in North Africa in 1942 and continued in service for the German army after the armistice with Italy.

Any idea where it was used by the Germans after the armistice? It would be neat to see a German version of this thing. I rather love that captured vehicles have such a presence in FH2.

Yea!! Nice devblog TS. :D Glad we can show some of these things to the public. Now we have a Semovente that the commonwealth will actually have to watch out for.

Stubbfan listens to your prayers guys ;)

In northern Italy and Yugoslavia.

I could have sworn we already had a stubby little Italian assault gun in FH2?
