Gaming / Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 reviews off the charts!
« on: 13-11-2012, 12:11:04 »
wooooh woooh what happened here? Reviews are going nuts :) might be worth getting after all.

GT:
Quote
"Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the most evolved sequel we've played in recent memory as it challenges the status quo at almost every turn. The elastic story provides plenty of incentive to replay the campaign, the strikeforce levels aren't executed perfectly, but they're a glimpse at the future, and the multiplayer features are tweaked to make every play style relevant and to level the playing field. It does so many new things so very well, making it the most groundbreaking Call of Duty since the first Modern Warfare. Shooters simply don't get much more deep, varied, surprising, or rewarding than this."

General Discussion / Battlefield 1942 10th year!
« on: 10-09-2012, 19:09:46 »
Today september 10th marks the 10 years anniversary of BF1942 (Sep 20th in USA)

Can't believe I've lived a whole decade with this franchise now... still remember the first steps I took on Battleaxe 10 years ago... didn't know what the hell i was doing...chaos everywhere....

Now, I've passed from gamer to hardcore fan, to fan mapper, to modder, to tournament mapper to FH2 Developer to level designer, sound artist, Effects artist, game play designer and onwards to Designer at EA... what a ride  :P so many people I've gotten to know; players, clan people, modders, fans of forgotten hope & other great Battlefield Mods, industry people....

If I knew what I gave myself in to when I got that copy of that Swedish game 10 years ago  :o maybe I shouldn't have bought it (lol!)

Here's a huge thanks to everyone out there who is part of this community, (putting up with all my crap) this game and its franchise. Imagine all the experiences it has given us, without it, no Forgotten Hope 1 or 2, without it, maybe I would have worked with something completely different (or being a bitter Source modder)

Happy 10 years Battlefield!  :-* :-* :-*

Gaming / Battlefield 4 announced
« on: 17-07-2012, 16:07:11 »
So to get in the beta for BF4 fast you just get the new Medal of Honor: Warfighter game :)
http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/ea-confirms-battlefield-4-pre-order-medal-of-honor-warfighter-limited-edition-for-beta-access/

I actually liked the first MoH 2010 game a lot, nice game modes, nice weapons, nice maps. Objective mission was pretty fun, just sad it never "took off" in terms of activity, player base etc...

New MoH looks cool though.

So has anyone got it? Opinions?

I have it, and without spoiling, I like it :) Combat sequences are as boring as in the 2nd one (except for a nicely updated brawling system) , but the overall crazy spectacular direction is the same. And apparently I havent even seen the most awesome maps yet...

Finding treasures is as hard as in the 2nd one though... I simply have given up finding any.. if I run in to one, I pick it, but for me it's impossible to find them, even when I look in places on the map where I think 'here should be a good spot for a treasure'... can't believe the dudes that found all of them in UC2  :o

PX Commanding General Explains Global Ban on Medal of Honor Game

The commanding general of the Army and Air Force Exchange Services told Kotaku today that his decision to have Medal of Honor pulled from U.S. military bases worldwide was spurred by "well-documented reports of depictions of Taliban fighters engaging American troops" in the game.

"Out of respect to those we serve, we will not be stocking this game," the Army & Air Force Exchange Service's Commander Maj. Gen. Bruce Casella, told Kotaku. "We regret any inconvenience this may cause authorized shoppers, but are optimistic that they will understand the sensitivity to the life and death scenarios this product presents as entertainment. As a military command with a retail mission, we serve a very unique customer base that has, or possibly will, witness combat in real life."

The determination to not offer Medal of Honor, first broken by Kotaku, impacts all Army and Air Force Exchange operations worldwide, including its website and 49 on-base and post GameStops. Any reserve or preorders placed through shopmyexchange.com will be cancelled. Preorders originally placed through GameStops on Army and Air Force installations will be transferred to the nearest GameStop off the Base or Post.

We've contacted EA for comment and will update when they respond.

Since 2002, the Battlefield franchise has been dominating the shooter genre on both PCs and consoles. But there's a lot more to this developer, DICE, that meets the eye. Learn DICE's history in this 4 part Machinima series.

Off-Topic / Medal of Honor beta 21st june
« on: 16-06-2010, 14:06:25 »
starts June 21 according to E3 here : http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-electronic-arts/101560

2 maps produced by DICE (who is doing the MP part of MoH)will be in the beta!

Game takes place on real world locations in Afghanistan with same loadout as the soldiers have.
Gameplay in Kabul seems a bit like MW2 but there seems to be more open maps as well, in deserts and mountains :)
