Happy 10 years brothers!

I'm happy you tagged me on FB Joe. Funny that I login in here again last week after a long time.
I think I need to rewrite what I told you on facebook.

I owe so much to this mod. Back in the FH1942 I start practicing creating new textures. this formed the base for my photoshop skills and helped me to get into Photography school. I joined up the armed forces as soon as I was done with school. This also sadly marked the end of my gaming times. I now work as a combat cameraman where I combine the creative side and the military side. two things I love and got formed out of my time in Forgotten Hope.

I can only say I miss those days. I truly get that weird sad feeling in my stomach knowing these times has past. Knowing I will never be in my room at my parents place waiting in the teamspeak server to see if someone want to play, having 15+ full servers and Beta Testing every Sunday. talking to people all across the world sharing the same pasion and most important of all the thight community. The one I joined a game and saw familiair names saying Hi. hanging out on IRC.

I does fill me with joy seeing so many of you guys still hanging out here! Keep the dream alive for all of us, and also keep the dream alive for those who passed away. Jim, aka Rad will probably be smiling down on us knowing you guys still use his vehicles, his equipment and still playing the game he spend allot of time creating. it keeps his legacy alive.

Good old times gent's. Loved it so much, Will miss it everyday...

Jasper aka Invincible.<3

..and havoc... man I was bad at choosing nametags.

Hi there guys,

Some might still remember me, and some might wonder who this guy is opening this shitty topic.
I actually have been a member of this community since the very beginning.. Shameful I lost track of it due to work and RL stuff.. I just congratulated an old member (n24reporter iirc) on facebook and thought it might be cool to check this place out one more time.

I just wanted to say how much joy it gave me to see how much of you are still supporting this mod, and keeping the dream alive. I see some very familiar names, who still go strong here. I think this is the greatest compliment to the whole community. I have wondered around the world the last 3 years photographing some of the amazing places, and some of the worst places you can think off, yet I still remember names, experiences, and the joy I had playing and betatesting FH1942 and FH2!

I hope all of you keep going strong with this amazing masterpiece as long as possible!

Jasper

Hey Guys, I don't know if anyone still remembers me, but I haven't really posted in ages.
I used to be beta-testing for the team back in the days and been a member here since the beginning.
Honestly I miss the days I had time on my hands to play Forgotten Hope, but my machine broke down and RL got in the way.

But now I'm here to call you guys help.
Last year I started school again, and I'm now doing a education to become photographer.
Just like allot of you I have an endless interest in weapons and conflicts, So somehow my photo's are often military styled.

Now I'm trying something new for a upcoming photo shoot, witch gonna be big.
It will be about the American outlaws during the great depression.

We all heard about John Dillinger, Pretty Boy Floyd, babyface nelson, Bonny and Clyde etc etc.
Well It will be all about them, allot of work models, styling etc.

For this project I'm gonna make some replica weapons. Since you are not aloud to have such kind of firearm in Holland its extremely hard to get. So there is only one way, and that is make replica's myself. (Witch I loved to do as a kid.)
Somehow The man My models are gonna resemble loved it ass well. For example Clyde barrow weapons of choise was a sawed off BAR. John dillinger's gang offend used Tommy's without buttstock. And dillinger himself used a Colt .38 Super, modified to a machine pistol.

I know you guys love pic:

Dillingers Colt .38

Clydes sawed off bar.

Anyways this all Is just info, now to my question,

To make the replica's I need measurement from both weapons.
So the lines I drawn here.. I know its a bit strange drawn, but it just have to be rough. I will photoshop allot of the weapon, and in the end its just a prop.

Same goes for the BAR.

I don't know if Taranov is still active? he had a hell of a database of about everything!

I really hope you guys can help me out!

Jasper

Corvax, love your pictures! I started photograph film as well, absolutely love it.
I have several new camera's now including a Hasselblad 500c. Didn't had the time to patch it up and use it, but i will most defiantly before the end of the year.
Now I mostly use my Praktica MTL-3. It's a very nice small camera and makes relatively nice pictures.
I now looking out for a not to expensive Rolleiflex, but those are pretty hard to get.

I'll post some photo's soon.

MULTICAM is nice and all but how much does one need to pimp out his weapon? After a while I suspect it just becomes dead weight.

Heh. The US military is full of pimped-out M4s loaded down with tacticool gear.

Like the guy on the right. What is he doing with a barrel flashlight at a firebase in an open area? People from far away will see his light long before he can see them.

You as a fellow soldier (Irc?) should know a barrel flashlight is very usfull, and you wont take it of every time you'r in an open area. the moment you have to do something cqb or searching its very usefull. We all know A-stan isn't one big flat dessert. So imo its very usfull to have.

I carried a C7 with AG36 Aimpoint + mag and a surefire flashlight.. thing was nose heavy for sure, but I was always happy to have it.

Lovely to see the pod is still going strong guys, keep it up! :)

I've seen whole divisions in Multicam, ( I think it was 10the mountain) and from those who I spoke all told me multicam will replace ACU in all branches?
At least all personal in Afghanistan is now being issued with it.

Btw I did saw pictures of the 82the also fully equipped in multicam recently.

Is that a pre-ACU era picture?
As far as I know Afghan Commandos use Woodland uniforms, so assigned US Spec Ops soldiers use that camo pattern, too, to blend in. The uniforms themselves are modern ACU type, as Kading pointed out with high collar and shoulder pockets.
OT:

Afghan Commandoes.

Homer_jay is right, The US OMLT (and alot of outer countries also) wear woodland to blend in with there ANA troops.

Btw, Multicam is being replacing ACU in some units right? I think the whole 101ste 82ste and 10the mountain already use multicam.

(Btw way back since i posted, im still alive!)
