Other WW2 Shooters
« on: 30-06-2012, 20:06:36 »
It saddens me that the more I log on to try to play FH2 I can rarely find servers. I know there are tourneys, organized battles, etc. But I cant ever make them due to working 2 full time jobs. I need to just be able to jump in and go when i can.

So what other WW2 shooters does everyone recommend? Basically looking for the "next best thing". Is Iron Front decent? Red Orchestra?

Not to complain, but FH2 seems to have run its course. Or they need to speed up the release cycle if they want it to survive.

most important factor is player's.

which of these games offer a stable community that doesn't require taking time off work or sacrificing our personal lives.

Where are you located nvrsummer2? In europe there are always servers to hop in on. Some are unranked though, like the 762, so you wont collect stats to your profile, but at least you can have fun & enjoy the mod on them. If you're in North america, then the problem isnt new. We havent had daily full servers there since like..........ever.

My Steam profile says that I´ve played over 300 hours of "Darkest Hour", a RO1 mod, so this has to count for something. If you´re into gameplay similiar to FH2, check out RO1 and if your rigg can run it, RO2. DH, while having lower player numbers nowadays has a small yet relatively active community and Euros and Amis alike can enjoy mostly full 70 player servers. RO2 has higher numbers than that, but a somewhat different gameplay.
Btw, if anyone is interested, I also got 3 guest passes for RO2. Just send me a PM and I´ll give you one.

There´s also a WW2 mod for ArmA2 and another Eastern Front game based on ArmA2. Their player bases are rather low, though, and they´re based on ArmA2, which you either hate or get used to.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

where do you get your information from? stop pulling crap out of your ass.

North America had a vibrant playerbase up until about November of last year. Statement's like the one you just made do not encourage the playerbase to participate when a main Dev says that we don't exist.

"ever heard of World at War? maybe WOLF thursdays? perhaps even Veteran gamer's"

We had shitloads of full servers (like pz 130, WOLF, WaW, even Gunnie's in Chicago) but once you guys slowed releases down to a trickle, it discouraged a massive amount of us from sticking it out.

Get us more devs to do the job, please! Or do our mappers' real life work and be with their families that they can map 24/7. Show some respect, idiot! These people work on the mod when they want and because they enjoy it and ON THEIR FREETIME! It's not a work, it's a hobby.

Sheik, here's a tip: When you read a forum post, before starting to hyperventilate and press the "reply" button, finish the post you're reading.

Try it again with my last post^ read the last sentence, here, Ill make it red for you, text in bold is what you're looking for.

If you're in North america, then the problem isnt new. We havent had daily full servers there since like..........ever.

And that is the truth, We haven't seen full 64/64 servers every day in north america since possibly 2.0

I wasn't talking about game nights or tournaments, I was talking about a live game service in which you can hop in at any time and enjoy the game as the thread maker said himself "I need to just be able to jump in and go when i can."
