Modding / FH2 Vehicle Training Grounds
« on: 24-11-2010, 02:11:47 »
From the creator of FH2 Infantry Boot Camp, I now announce "FH2 Vehicle Training Grounds".  This map will help people understand how to operate the vehicles of FH2 ranging from light-armored cars to heavily-armored tanks.  The map will also give players the weapons needed to counter these vehicles...

The concepts for the map:
-Maneuvering through obstacles while driving vehicles.  For tanks, it'll be moving through rough terrain.
-Tank training - There's two kinds of tank training.  The first one involves firing at targets while in a tank that is stationary.  The targets are vehicles of various types, at various angles, and at various ranges.  The second involves firing at target vehicles and dummy targets while moving around.
-Anti-armor training - Unlike the one from Infantry Boot Camp which only had the anti-armor rifles, this one has a larger variety of anti-armor weapons.  The anti-tank cannons, bazookas and panzerschrecks will be the new additions.
-Satchel training - Used for satchels, mines, and sticky bombs.
-Urban Combat - Similar to the one in Infantry Boot Camp, but uses fighting vehicles and tanks.  The dummy targets are set up near the doorways and windows.
-Combat Arena - Just like in Infantry Boot Camp, this will have a large combat arena with several garrisons to capture.  The garrisons will have anti-armor cannons

Suggestions / US combat rations
« on: 19-11-2009, 05:11:27 »
random suggestion.  For maps that have US bases or outposts, perhaps there could a random crate or two of Type C or Type K rations around certain parts of such bases?  We could make it act like a healing area.  But if people want to make it a temporary thing, we could make it a combat drop and act as a temporary healing area.

General Discussion / how I died... in FH 2.2
« on: 06-09-2009, 07:09:22 »
another thread about discussing your deaths that occurred in FH 2.2

In Purple Heart Lane, playing on the Axis side, I was defending a position where there's this wooden bunker.  I was in some area where they had that MG42 that can be picked up, and I was using an FG42.  When the Allied players eventually entered the position, I managed to nail one or two Allied players with the FG42 (and ran out of ammo in the mag) before another one critically wounded me (seeing gray).  I immediately charged at him with a knife while he tried to fight back with his knife.  Did a knife fight for second, and when I looked around for him, he armed his gun.  I immediately tried to arm my FG42, but it was still out of ammo at the time.  I was eventually shot shortly after I armed my pistol.

In another situation in Purple Heart Lane, I was going around a house when I saw an Allied player in prone position, facing away from me.  I was about to sneak up on him and cap him with a captured M1 Garand, but he suddenly turned around and I died a split second later.  I actually thought he was the one who killed me, but then I saw another Allied player walk to him.  That guy probably sneaked up on me and shot me from behind...

Suggestions / Aachen
« on: 14-05-2009, 05:05:35 »
The battle took place in October 1944.  It was said to be the first German city to fall to the Allies.  It pitted the U.S. 1st and 30th Infantry Divisions against the German LXXXI Corps and elements of the 1st SS Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler.  In this battle, both U.S. Infantry Divisions were under heavy fire as they advanced into Aachen.  As the battle ended, U.S. suffered over 5000 casualties while the Germans lost over 5000 men and thousands more prisoner.

If a map like this were to be made, they should also include places like Hotel Quellenhof where U.S. forces faced fierce German resistance.

Suggestions / Liberator pistol
« on: 24-04-2009, 02:04:43 »
I saw this on the History Channel yesterday.  It's known as the FP-45 Liberator (Flare Projector .45), a crude single-shot pistol that was churned out in large numbers by the U.S.  It was designed for resistance groups in Axis occupied territories.  The Allies thought of dropping mass loads of these pistols into occupied territories so the resistance groups would be able to pick these up although the enemy is very likely to find these too.

Suggestions / Battle of Carentan

Will they have the Battle of Carentan in the Normandy release of FH2?  I liked this particular battle when I played it on FH 0.7

Suggestions / Paramarines
« on: 15-04-2009, 22:04:36 »
when the FH Devs get to the Pacific theater (even though this campaign is far in the back burner due to Normandy) there should be some battles in the Pacific that involve the paramarines.

General Discussion / How I died.....
« on: 03-04-2009, 02:04:08 »
Another thread related to the "Unfortunate Moments" threads I made in the past.

I remember this one bit when there was the first version of FH2.

-I fired a rifle shot at this one Axis player and missed.  He tried to fire at me but missed.  I immediately armed my knife and charged at him.  The Axis player, of course, saw me doing this so he backed away from me while he armed his bayonet.  Then he was ready to fight me as it became a knife vs. bayonet fight.  I managed to win the fight.... but then got shot by some other Axis player...

-I was a commander in the Allied side in Gazala.  I went into the armored car to direct artillery and such.  I thought I was safe in my main base, but I was wrong.  I wasn't aware of an Axis player sneaking into the main base since I was busy staring at the map.  The next thing I knew, I was shot in the head by the Axis player's Luger.  As it turned out, I forgot to close the metal plating on the windows and windshield.
