I'd like the see a picture of the receiver tang of your Tikka 1891. Usually there is a 2, 3 or 4 digit date and an arsenal mark. Could tell you more about it with that information. They're nice rifles, I have VKT refinished one from 1941, it's the most accurate rifle in my collection. I have 7 other Mosins to compare it to and 15 rifles total, so that says a lot about their quality.

I would like to ask a huge favor from one of our resident Germans here. Zib-Militaria charges a ton for shipping to the US (50 Euro) for an Italian belt and neck strap. I am very sure that one of the guys here could easily cram it in a padded envelope and ship it to me for less. I'd be more than happy to paypal the funds to anyone who could help me with this giant favor. I am reenacting Italian here in the US and we have no sources for this stuff.

[qoute]I just don't see his point. He wants to ban assault rifles in his country to save lifes, which seems a legit reason to me if it would indeed save lifes.[/quote]

Assault Rifles are responsible for less than 1 percent of killings in the US, blunt objects kill far more people so we should ban those too. I am using the FBIs uniform crime report as my number one source, so that's not too easy to argue with.

Gaming / Re: Rising Storm Expansion For RO2
« on: 02-06-2013, 23:06:04 »
After half a year break from RO2 I decided to check Rising Storm.... After few rounds I have enough this game for another half a year. I really don't like this nowadays trend of bottleneck maps favoring camping style...
Camping is fine, the bottleneck is what kills both this game and RO2. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing both, and in a sense it is a similar type of gameplay as RO/DH, but it's just lacking something. That's why I like project reality and to a less extent FH2, the gameplay can be so dynamic.

This. The only FPS's I can even stand to play anymore are PR and FH2, despite their flaws, they both have decent maps.

I always find it funny at how all Europeans view Assad as worse than the rebels. Wait until the rebels take over, they will thank you by bombing a few of your cities and kill every single Christian, Atheist or non-Muslim who stays in their country. Assad was a tyrant, sure, but he was the only thing suppressing the extremists in Syria, when he is gone, you will all regret having a terrorist training ground nearby. There are no good guys there, just nutballs, I will support the nutball that can at least be bribed over the nutball who is a religious dickwad who want the west destroyed. I have talked to a couple of people from Syria and anyone who isn't an extremist tends to support him.

My Review :)

I was recently invited into the Rising Storm beta by a friend, much to my excitement. I was hoping that the Rising Storm team would be able to make RO:2 into what it should have been, the successor to the fantastic RO:1. I couldn't have been more wrong. The moment I entered the beta, the similarities have astounded me. This is essentially the same game, the same vile dismemberment of realism that was RO:2. Everything about the game is designed to make money.

When the game started, I decided spawn in as a normal Japanese rifleman and to my immediate disgust, even in realism mode, I see that he is equipped with a sidearm. Japanese riflemen were never issued sidearms during WWII, what I am seeing here is some kind of balancing crap that the RS team initially promised not to pull off and design the maps to get around it. I decided to ignore it begrudgingly and try to continue to play even with this blasphemous ignoration of reality. As I continued to play I eventually switched over the American team on Iwo Jima and once again I am disgusted. Fairly early in the round, I am charged by three katana wielding Japanese infantrymen and proceed to shoot them with my Thompson. I understand the banzai mechanics were an attempt to get the Japanese team to use realistic tactics, but this is ridiculous. I empty my magazine into the three of them, killing a single one and despite being full of bullets continue charging me like this is some sort of last samurai shit (probably another on of your references ) and chop me to pieces. After this I immediately decided to stop playing. I was disgusted.

RS appears to be trying to make money off the hype that The Pacific miniseries created and it appears to have been the team's primary reference.  I assumed, once again incorrectly, that Rising Storm was a labor of love by a group of developers who were not in it for the money, but to provide the world with a realistic interpretation of the Pacific War, a gap that has never been filled. I recognized a few of the developers and researchers from various community modifications I have played in the past, but I suppose money can drive people to do anything. I have no problem with hard working devs asking for money in return for there work, but they went beyond that by adding an unlocking system similar to RO2's and I thought we had already figured out what the original RO community thought about that shit, but I suppose that you are all too blind to see it. Once again, Tripwire (I think it is safe to refer to the RS developers as being on and the same) will appeal to neither the arcade community or the original RO/DH realism community, trying to find a middle ground between realism and arcadishness.

I'll take that key off of you :D

Well, neither wants to free you from your leash, so both parties are douchebags.
This. Boths sides are retarded. People shouldn't kid themselves about the democrats being selfless, environment loving, bands of merry men who steal from the rich and give to the poor.

Anyways, time to go back to purpose of this thread, Game of Thrones 1995:

Gaming / $400-$500 super low budget PC
« on: 07-05-2013, 18:05:05 »
Hey guys, I am looking to build a PC on a very low budget for FH2, PR, ArmA II and the upcoming Rome II. I want to be able to play FH2 and PR on high settings and ArmA II smoothly on low. Rome 2 is supposed to have the same requirements as Shogun 2, so that should be able to give you some ideas. I already have a pretty decent video card that meets the the requirements for all games listed, an AMD that fits into a PCI Express slot, so I won't be needing a new video card yet. This is just going to be something to build off of, the processor is the number one priority.

The USA more culturally diverse than the whole EU. Had to actually double check that statement. Dear me.... :o

Oddball you seem to live in a lovely world of black and white, good and evil, right and wrong. I'm pleased for you. It brings me back to merry times as a child.

Speaking of children, I'm sure most children are pleased that they can't be hit by ricochets from hollow points. You know, being hit by one directly is all fine and dandy but if one of those ricochets gets you, you're in trouble son. Of course, a US Marine couldn't legally have access to these hollow points during his tour in Afghanistan but I suppose that only helps your 'well regulated' militia when the evil gubment and that muzlim communazi Obama comes to hand your freedom back to the British.

Let the pointlessness continue.

The reason I post ignorant shit is so I can get even more ignorant shit back :D . Keep it up guys, I'll keep laughing.

So the main use of guns is to kill people? What a joke. You obviously missed the olympics. Please explain to me why you need to have alcohol and why over 15000 deaths from drunk drivers a year in the civilized world is any more justifiable than firearms related ones. The average member of the middle class in the United States has more to fear from an idiot drunk driving asshole than a gun. Sadly, you will not be able to find any better excuse for alcohol as a drink than owning a firearm.

Could have been some fucking drunk killing someone too, but in that case you wouldn't care because you all enjoy your alcohol too much.

Yes, I am stating a fact. Compared to the United States most European countries look very homogenous. Only reason that there appear to be more minorities in Europe than there are is because of racism. Many of you try to portray immigration as an invasion, for example the North Africans in France and the minority groups the former Deutsche Demokratische Republik. They typically commit less acts of violence over it than the United States, but it's far from tolerance.
