Might not be possible due to hardcoding, but instead of peeking, how about reducing strafing movement speed?

That would force people to move forward most of the time, only using strafing for slight adjustments.

Much like peeking, only without having to code a new animation.

Would make close-combat less silly too, people would actually charge each other instead of running and jumping in circles around each other at point blank range hoping they'll hit first.

Bug Reporting / 47/32 M35 ammo bug
« on: 20-04-2011, 12:04:13 »
Movable 47/32 M35s have their ammo listed as 37mm shells (seen on Siege of Giarabub).
Fixed ones seem fine.

People fooling around instead of fighting to win.

Mouse-sensitivity abusers.

People not using VOIP. And shouting voice commands all day long, warning the enemy of our presence no matter where we go. FFS.

I checked the mainpage one last time, not expecting much a Sunday evening.
Then, in the corner of my eye.
"Russian green?"
Followed by a minute of squealing.

The Russians at last!

I'm all for this.
'Tired of seeing squadleaders run around with MG or AT kits and just spraying at infantry or chasing tanks.

Problem is, the enemy sees those flags aswel.

Hence they know minefields, and probaly they avoid the abvious places

Isn't that intended?
Mines are area denial tools, not direct killing weapons.

Damn great models.

we need to wait ages for Tiger respawning

It's a god damn Tiger. If you lose it, don't expect to get a new one any time soon.
And the Tiger is easy enough to defend on Totalize with proper AA support.

That SdKfz 250/3...
Is it the one that was lost in a HDD crash?
Or am I thinking of something else?

people dont care about less ammo, theyll just get themselfs killed to respawn with full ammo again

Which costs tickets to their team.

But in no way am i dissapointed in the ground combat section.

Oh, I'm not saying it's bad.
There's a number of things that I don't like, but I usually have fun palying FH2, on most maps.

The fun comes from the maps, the weapons and vehicles you are given

Only if they "feel" like they should.

I have no fun with the planes in the game, and I hate them, for being able to turn around in 5 seconds and less than a hundred meters to hit me back moments after they already did. There could be a hundred more planes modeled in the game, and it wouldn't change that. Because they don't feel like planes. The Typhoon looks great on renders, but I never saw them as Typhoons in the game. They're just speedy, annoying UFOs with rockets.

You could model a hundred more planes, but if they don't 'feel' like the ones they're supposed to be, what's the point?
They're still UFOs to me.

The same applies to weapons.
Quantity changes nothing, if they don't feel like the weapons they represent.

Same goes for maps. And I like them because they feel like the places they represent.

Which would you rather have, Battle of Brest, or a prone animation for the MG42.

I'd rather have the MG42 animation, which applies to all MG42s in the mod, than a single map.

They have nothing to do with how fun the game is.

They add immersion, which I need to have fun. That's personal opinion though, but I believe it applies to quite a few people.

you didn't want prone animations until they put them in.

I wanted them.
They already had one, since 2.0 (simply deploying the bipod), but it seemed a bit simple to me.

Vicious, you don't seem to understand that no one here gives a fuck about the graphics or the animations or such.

Then why did the devs make some new animations in the last patch?
Because the people want them.

If no one cares about graphics and animations, how about removing half of those useless effects?
After all, they don't affect gameplay, and they just add to memory usage.
