World War Two Songs
« on: 16-09-2009, 09:09:47 »
Hi guys, as some of you know, I'm heavily involved in production of music, most of this production revolves around sampling. I just thought of an untapped source! I know many of you are interested in or educated on WWII music, can any one link, or tell me some decent albums, artists and all round good stuff to sample? I really like the sounds of that era, and in my sort of music these type of samples come up great. I'm already working on sampling some tracks I found in the BF2 mod folder, and have sampled songs from EOD before, lol, BF2 mods are doing my digging for me!

Samples sounding like this and alike are great:

Keep in mind that's the song after it has been sampled, the songs I'm looking for would sound more like the first 20 odd seconds of that song.

Thanks

Are you looking for music from the 1940s or music about WW2?

Get yourself the Vera Lynn best of, funnily enough I saw it advertised the morning before FH2.2 release playing "we'll meet again".

btw rapping is just utter bs, like professional footballers, overpaid, bloated, egocentric nubs.  But, each to their own, that's simply my opinion.

Or try;

Marlene Dietrich
The RAF Dance Orchestra
Glenn Miller
Fats Waller
Noel Coward - Could You Please Oblige Us With A Bren Gun?  (special mention)

Dude, there's loads out there.

THeTA0123 That shit there is nice, I'm going to try to flip that.

Thanks for all your post so far, good stuff, I'll post the flips when I'm done.

To clarify, music from the 1940's.

von.small, Mainstream music as a whole is overpaid bullshit, I don't listen to main stream.
