Too OP, the devs think, and not historically correct. The Hi-Power is enough in the PIAT, love to go Jack Bauer with it.
i refuse to see such a kit
PIAT, zooka and Shreck where a ton of weight. A sidearm was the best these men got
The panzerfaust is a completly diffrent story.
Actually, PIAT bombers in Canadian service frequently used Tommy guns or Sten's in addition to carrying the PIAT.
Regulation issue was a PIAT with 3 bombs in a satchel and a Lee Enfield rifle (which was swapped for an SMG when available or scrounged).
My regiment (72 Seaforth's) had plenty of men who preferred the added weight for the additional protection that was afforded by stronger weapons.
see wikipedia :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernest_Smithand I quote ""Without hesitation Private Smith moved out on the road and with his
Tommy gun at point-blank range, killed four Germans and drove the remainder back. Almost immediately another tank opened fire and more enemy infantry closed in on Smith's position. Obtaining some abandoned Tommy gun magazines from a ditch, he steadfastly held his position, protecting his comrade and
fighting the enemy with his Tommy gun until they finally gave up and withdrew in disorder.""
Smokey was an amazing guy and he was the first to admit that he couldn't have done what he did without sufficient firepower. I had dinner with his son last year and he recalled many stories of how his dad wheeled and dealed to make sure his men were properly outfitted.
In addition, when pulled back to Britain for rest and refit, the commanding officer of the regiment purposely withheld 400 000 rounds of .45 ammunition and sufficient Tommy guns to ensure his men stood a fighting chance when they were put back into action during the Liberation of Holland and follow on action through NW Europe.
So, rather than stating that it was historically correct to give these soldiers a peashooter, it would suffice to say that balance issues preclude historically correct kits for the Canadians. (even though the germans get a rifle in their AT kit with no questions asked)
That don't look like a webley to me.
edited to add a damn hyperlink, friggin pictures never post for me on this website
