First of all: The current system is better then before. I like the much higher prone deviation, then before. It was ridiculous sometimes, when u see people close to the fog range, they just instaprone and picked you off. Or even the other way around in ultra CQC. Of course, I was able to do it myself. After a short while playing FH2 you accepted it, as the standard way to move in this game (so it is just something, which you have to learn to play this game, it is just the gameplay).
Now it is different, the idea and how it is done feels much better. With the prone deviation the cover becomes more important, a guy who just prones in the open ground will be killed shortly, while a guy crouching or proning in cover has a much higher chance to stay alive (And this feels more real). Another thing are the SMGs or MGs get more important, as noone just can come around a corner, hit the ground and then hit you. So gameplaywise it is a better way for this mod.
People who still go prone, while I just stand/crouch and then pick them off in a the 3-4 seconds time frame, their crosshair needs to settle, makes me always lough.
There is only on thing which could be changed: A little more feedback then just the big crosshair. It just don't feels consistent with the rest of the very high quality mod! I understand that a animation takes a very, very long time and much of work, so I can't be done instantly (and might never be done). But there might be other ways as Djinn brought up, to bring this to the player. There are a lot of possibilities and I am sure the devs thought about it already. Maybe even reducing the deviation or the time it stays only a very, very bit, maybe half of a second, can make the whole difference.
We have to learn to handle with this feature and a lot of people already do fine with it.
So all in all: I totally agree with the devs, who changed it for a good reason, but i also support the idea of making the system better and feeling more consistent, like Djinn brought it up.
My 2 Pfennig,
Oberst
PS: Another thing to a discussing process: Discussing is always good, a lot of people have a very wide range of opinions and its always good to hear it, but it is also of a very importance, that decisions have to be made and in the end all people should accept, that not always there idea could be the one. And a discussion should never become to emotional and offense people.
