Welcome to another Forgotten Hope 2 CMP Gaming Campaign

This new campaign will move us to northern Europe, more exactly to the Finnish border with the Soviet Union, where both nations and Germany took part in numerous battles during the Second World War. This set of battles was named the Winter and Continuation War.

This is a new theater that has never been played before in a tournament, accompanied with brand new maps. In this campaign communication and organization between allies will be the key to take advantage over your enemy.

Fight around countryside lakes that will test your skills, hide in immense forests to hunt down incoming tanks, rise to the skies and gain air superiority. Experience an incredible war-like sensation on new maps such as Nietjärvi, Strongpoint Joki, Ilomantsi, Sinimaed, Invasion of Tornio, Silver Fox and others, that will bring you to the Finnish land and feel the Winter and Continuation War atmosphere.

Choose your side, defend your land, fight together with other experienced players and take advantage of superior teamwork on our new maps.
.

Get ready for the fight.

Join us Every Friday at 18hUTC , for the very first Capture the Flag event for Forgotten Hope 2

What is Capture the Flag ( CTF ) ?

The objective of the game is to capture the opposing team's flag while defending one's own. This can be done by getting in to where the flag is located in the enemy base, taking it, and returning it to the player's base alive. This task is usually much easier said than done, as the opposing team's base is usually heavily defended and players are alerted once a flag is taken from its base, causing the team whose flag was stolen to frantically try to get it back at any cost.

Unlike Conquest, Capture the Flag has infinite tickets for each team, but flag captures count downwards. Once the enemy team captures your flag e.g. 10 times, it wins the round.

Flags can be held while on any vehicle as well, regardless if it is piloted on land, sea or air. It also does not matter whether the flag-carrier is on the driver or passenger seat of the vehicle as well. This allows for much faster delivering of flags to other bases due to the large nature of the maps playable in the game mode.

Report any bugs / issues you might find

Since this is a work in progress mod some bugs and issues will occur. Please report if you find or encounter something out of the ordinary.

With your help we can fine tune the mod quicker and more efficiently.

Where to download ?

Download links and server ip/name will be provided in the link below during this week:

What Is A Campaign?
A campaign is a series of connected battles where we recreate the timeline of the war. Here at Forgotten Honor it also means teamplay and organized gameplay. Campaigns take about 8-10 weeks and every Friday night we will have one +4hour battle. All battles are counted towards the final score which determines the army that won the overall campaign.
Every army has a training server to use during the week for scouting and practice, as well as their own Teamspeak channels and locked sub-forums (we call them barracks) for communication and entertainment. Everyone can participate in all weekly activities and events as much as they want!

How To Join?
Due to our new Tournament Interface being in development, a different signup process is in effect.
Step 1 - Click in Tournament Statistics Page and choose your side in the Tropic Thunder Campaign: http://www.forgottenhonor.nl/forums/page/tournament-team-statistics
Step 2 - You now have access to the Tropic Thunder Campaign Information and your Divisonal Barracks. Choose your company and make a post introducing yourself in the respective company topic.
Step 3 - Have fun together with other players playing FH2.

The Story
The collapse of the iron curtain never took place, the Cold War era has came to an end. The light of the nuclear attack on the secret US base in middle east by the USSR started what is known as the South Asia Domino. The conflict has reached the Korean Peninsula and the second Korean war started. NATO acted quickly and sent its reinforcements to their allies and so did the Warsaw Pact states... After 3 months of ferocious figthing a stalemate forces both sides to come together in the negotiation table... A truce is agreed for the time being...

In a sector that 7 French Divisions are facing 7 Polish ones, you are commmanders assigned to various units alongside the frontline at the moment that truce is broken due to a Diplomatic Failure. Join now and lead the French or the Polish forces to victory!!!

The experience
Join us in our Teamspeak and team up with your friends or other players intersted in a more teamwork oriented game play than normal every day public play.

Discuss in the forums the best strategy, decks and units that suits your 4 player team, known as Division, and fight for the most victories for your side, the French or the Polish Army.

Remember though the resources in men and material are allocated to the whole front... you need to do the best you can do by chosing 1 themed deck that is picked once in each division for each battle by the following ones:
Mechanised
Motorized
Armored
Airborne
Support

When are  Battle days?
Battle days are not fixed so that's up to you to decide and with the agreement with the other team that your facing off against.
Matches will be posted sunday evening so you have the time to plan and to fight the match untill saterday evening. ( Planning and posting of matches before thursday)

How do you win the campaign :
Explained with this Battlemap

Currently the planning is set with 7  teams against 7 teams
Each week the both factions will fight over 1 sector that is divided in 7 zones
Each zone  is a battle 1 team ( 4 players ) vs 1 team ( 4 players )
The winner of the battle gets 1 point
Each sector is worth 7 points .
So there are 63 points to be earned

Suggestions / Bring back the stamina bar ?
« on: 30-07-2014, 17:07:31 »
I thought i would bring this up because i believe that the reasons for taking it off made no sense at all.

For me the stamina bar had a tactical and immersive sensation to the mod.

You as a infantry player, trying to avoid being killed,  had to think before moving between buildings and through an open field. You had to evaluate the cover option in order to get from point A to point B. You had to think before making that important jump to get into cover safety.

You as a player aiming at an enemy would need to think and try to guess if his stamina is out. What will he do next ? Where will he find cover ?

Has it works now, and unfortunately since it was removed, is that every player is pressing his "shift - running button" during a whole round.

That for me does not make any sense in a tactical shooter that is FH2.

I know that this subject has been debated before, but what are your thoughts now ?
