I prefer to see the rest of the western front of war before eastern front and the pacific war before eastern front, but I think kev4000 is right about the eastern front.

Why pacific? You know pacific is much more harder to do then Eastren!

And i have to agree, Mid 1942-1943 might give the best battle's

To be absolutely honest, I agree with Alakazou. I would prefer to see Operation Market Garden right up to the Ardenne Offensive, THEN Pacific with all them lovely planes BEFORE Russia... But for the sake of what is most likely Russia is a good one....

Their battles all seemed so desperate, innit? That's what I love about them so much. I really never cared for the planes at that time save for that which Jerry used, But tanks, tanks, tanks of 1942- 43, yes please... And Slamming steel against massive defenses of '45 like Seelow and Berlin outskirts... Ye-es! Would feel like the Ruski version of Gazala :-)

Finland maps would be fun, but only if we get Flippy to record new voicecommands.

I also want a map looking exactly like the end scene in ENEMY AT THE GATES with sniper duels between trainwrecks and bombed factories.

Panzer I. I will find out a way to kill your KV1 with that thingy theta! :D edit: when you repair I show up! and you shoot through my armor with your rifle...xD
...as for maps -  suggested and I really liked the russian countryside feeling with open areas, woods and large tank battles of Kharkov Outskirts 1943 in FH1.
Finland at War 1939-45, now that would be fun and unique!

This board has so much Finnish bias that a simple confirmation of the Finnish front would result in several voice command packages uploaded at a moment's notice ;D

Theres nothing wrong with 0.7's finnish voices.

What would I like in eastern front? Well, a lot of things already mentioned here.

- A map or two based to Winter War. I actually got a couple of unique maps in mind. Winkity wink wink. I can go into details if asked.

- Continuation War maps. But since we will most likely will not have too many finnish related maps, I'd simply forget 1941-1943 altogether and directly skip into the most favorite subject of ww2, summer 1944 battles such as the campaign of Tali-Ihantala which could easily be made into at least two maps due to huge size of the area. Plenty of very interesting and intense battles which would definately not be another generic "karelia" map as we had in 0.7.

- Operation Barbarossa. People always thinks of Stalingrad, Kursk, Seelow and Berlin when they mention Eastern Front, and honestly I cant blame them. But I'd love to have a couple of Operation Barbarossa maps aswell. Some early war goes a long way if you ask me (see Olympus in 2.25).

- Italians! That would be so friggin' unique for a war game to have italians fighting the russians! That would be so darn cool.

- Then of course the run-of-the-mill maps that we already expect to see such as earlier mentioned Stalingrad and Kursk.

I dont expect huge things out of it. I expect it to be as fun as eastfront was in FH with great variety of maps, equipment and then some. My main hopes are however that we'd get a couple of mappers working on finnish themed maps so I dont have to do them all by my own. Oops, did I say something off my mouth?

I demand a Commisar Class (with hat) with which I can finally shoot any camper that slugs around the main trying to get his favourite toy.

Oh and battles with Russian troops where only every second person that spawns gets a kit with a gun and you have to salvage a good weapon from the dead.

Haha yeah Reporter.

Turn Squad leaders into comissars. :)

And just have a class menu filled with unarmed kits and have just one kit that lets you use a rifle, but its a limited kit.  ;D

If that were included, in at least one map there should be a 'banner' pickup class, with just a big flag (and possibly even use it as a melee weapon  ;))

@ djinn, Kreuzer

Nothing too out of ordinary you could expect from such war. But first of all the "basic" map idea would be set into the scenes of Taipale-Terenttilä region (having the russians cross the river and open fields with human waves) and you could all relate to your favorite Winter War movie. Basic finns sitting in trenches and russians throwing everything they have against them. Simple idea, difficult to get the russians running headlessly towards certain doom. Oh well, that happened in FinnWars too, I guess we could have it in FH2 aswell.

Second idea is to have the famous battle of Raate road with a twist. Russians are stuck in the middle of the thick forests on a very narrow road that twists and turns like a snake. Finns can maneuver within the forest and attack the russians from any direction.  Whats the objective? Yes, theres an objective! Finns would have to destroy specific types of tanks in order to win. Imagine for example a T-26 which is either bogged down into snow, it has frozen over  or its just stuck in the middle of other junk along the road... now, the turret is still in working conditions and it can still defend itself, but it cant run away from finnish infantry getting too close. So the russians have to protect these tanks, because if the finns manage to destroy them, then the finns will win. On other side of the map is another russian division who has working tanks and they try to race through the forest on that very same narrow road in order to provide much required defense against the white bandits who lurk in the snowy forest. Road would basically have several of these objective designed tanks sitting apart from each other so the russians have to divide the defense along the whole stretch.

The early Barbarossa could be interesting. In some cases the Russians were properly crushed by crappy panzers, in others those crappy panzers were in deep trouble when encountering a few T34s, KVs etc ...

And it would be the occasion to see somewhat forgotten vehicles such as T28s and maybe even T35s.
5 turrets, 3 guns, 6 MGs, THAT would be an epic monster to drive in a mighty fight.  ;D
