Suggestions / K98 3rd person (and 1st person?) animations

Hello everyone,

Although I think the 3rd person animations of the K98 look nice, it looks weird when a guy is sprinting and suddenly shoots with it. Sometimes, if it happens quick enough, it is hard to even notice the guy raising the rifle to his shoulders for a shooting position. It looks like the shot is fired when he is still carrying the rifle by his side, or as if the guy takes the rifle into both hands and places it onto his shoulder with extraterrestrial speed.

So my suggestion is to bring back the old K98 3rd person animation (and if its desirable for the developers and players, the 1st person animation too, for the animations to match).

Also, I think the carry-weapon-by-the-side style animation could be used for heavier guns like the MG42, which cannot be fired while standing and/or for weapons with carrying handles such as the MG26(t), PzB39, Bren, etc...

People keep saying that, but in the end it is nothing more but complaining, since no one ever bothers to even elaborate what do they mean by that. Improve the gameplay? Sure, that's technically easier than visual updates due to nature of how mapping in BF2 engine works (for example moving even one static will completely break the singleplayer layer that will have to be redone from scratch after each visual update).

There plenty of room for the gameplay improvements though, but what exactly, where and why should be changed? Explain in details, and we can talk.

I think we had another thread where we discussed this issue. ;) I just thought it would be appropriate to also state my opinion here.

I'd like to see overhauls of existing Africa maps instead of new ones. Some really need some work on the looks and gameplay.

Yes, and we will look at each other through binoculars only  ;)

Will all classes be issued binoculars? Or will only scouts and NCO's be able to spot?

Also, the only negative thing I can think of is how many "enemy unit spotted!" sounds will be ringing through my computer's speakers. They can get irritating in regular matches already.  :P

IIRC Project Reality mod has a different approach to deploying MG's; you can deploy MG's when crouching or standing, but it will stop you from moving. Maybe something similiar could be implemented.

Awesome! Which maps will this rifle be available on? As a kit selection or a pickup kit?

While we're at it I would also like to ask another question about early-WW2 US gear: Was the brodie helmet used in combat duty by the US military in the early stages of the war? Is it possible to see it on US playermodels in FH2?

Volkssturm, did you consider to work for FH2 as singleplay/ coop developer? Im not betatester nor dev, but I see you are comited to singleplayer developing with both maps and vehliches, so why not? You can continue working on CMP and especially FH2 as both could benefit from singleplayer developer  ;)

I was shown an ad of a mobile game called Mafia City while I was on Youtube. Something caught my ear: the sounds used in the ad were the same with the FH2 "bleeding" sounds. I did some research and found the ad.
