This coming Saturday, March 12th, the World at War Tournament invites you to take part in a special Aerial & Naval Warfare FH2 event.

The WaW team has prepared several custom maps that feature a wide variety of aircraft, including new custom aircraft. We're also excited to present the return of naval warfare to the Battlefield 2 + Forgotten Hope 2 platform, something that has been missing since the FH1 days.

You'll be able to take to the sea in destroyers featuring a heavy gun as well as a Bofors AA gun and working depth charges. Be aware of the threat from the deep as enemy submarines will also be on patrol and will be stalking you using their periscope and forward and aft firing torpedoes. Finally, you'll also have the chance to engange in large scale armored combat on the map Tundra, where half of your team is going to be driving a tank.

The maps are still being worked on and will be released around Friday March 11th so that everyone can download them for the Saturday event. The map links will be available at our website www.bfewaw.com and in this thread.

Event Features:
- Battle on 5 exciting and unique custom maps
- Tyrrhenian Sea: Fight for control of several small islands with heavy air and naval support.
- Bombing of Constanta: Launch Soviet Bombing raids against a Romanian port
- Baleares: Conduct beach assaults against a key island with air and naval support
- Battle of Britain: Be one of the "few" and defend the white cliffs of Dover against Luftwaffe attacks
- Tundra: Take part in epic tank battles across this large battlefield

- Custom equipment
- New aircraft such as the Stuka G-2 "Kannonvogel", Soviet TB-3 and I-16
- All aircraft featuring custom WaW Gravity Coding and nose-camera views
- Fully functional Ships and Submarines with torpedos and depth charges

And the Stuka G2...is that the one with the 75 mm on it?

G2 was late model D Stuka with two 37 mm guns.

D5/7 would require a completely new model. Did someone actually make a new model for the G2 or does it use the B2 model?

Should the current 128-server admins release the code for it, absolutely.

But they've told us they won't be releasing anything until they have the client-side crashes fixed. So don't hold your breath.

Those ships look more like Corvettes than Destroyers to me. But that is unimportant and does not detract from the coolness of naval combat. If by some miracle I have time to play that Saturday, I will.

This hase my attention! Also because i loved to use the Submarines in BF1942 and FH1.
