Like many thing from the original starwars trilogy  are inspired from ww2:P

The emperor= Hitler
The imperial troop= SS
Vader=SS too
The millenium falcon turret = b17 machinegun
The han solo blaster is a mauser pistol
The DLT-19  it's a MG34

Note that the Sterling (or rather it's prototype, the Patchett) was also used in WW2.

Starwars mod for bf1942 was clunky and didn't feel starwars-ish.

Galactic Conquest didnt feel Star Wars? But it had space battles, battle of Hoth, Bespin and even the trench run! It was amazing. One of my all time favorite mods ever.  ;D

Played it when I was pretty young, I vaguely remember that the trench run mission was impossible to win if the rebels went in one by one. I remember trying to organize a full scale assault by asking everyone to wait up. The few times that actually worked were epic.

Yeah it was a great mod, but it was a mod :P

and we will have hoth in Starwars battlefront :P But I have to admit, bespin and space battle could be nice. I mean they can make something similar to titan mod for space battle or simply make the fighter squadron having to destroy huge star destroyer :)

Also the SW mod for BF 2142 was perfect, First Strike. Sad though that it died.
