Off-Topic / Re: German reenactors under fire
« on: 20-06-2009, 11:06:03 »
A group of reenactors is checked by the police for wearing Wehrmacht and Waffen SS uniform during a parade in Sachsen-Anhalt. The uniforms were seen as "provocation" according to the minister of justice Angela Kolb. The parade had 4000 contributors (and 200 000 visitors) who reenacted important points in the history of the region, including the end of WW2.

As long as they didn't use one of them "evil" symbols they should be in the clear, still a lot of bullshit.

It's quite normal, german reenactment shouldn't parade in cities and but stay at the camp to do their pedagogic purpose.
After what happened you can't treat german reenactment like an other faction.

Americans can because they don't know what was the war, but in europe or other countries who see war on their soil, you cannot.

Afaik, he's not from hansen Kampfgruppe because the journalist did a kind of reenactment movie of the ambush after the Kampfgruppe leave the place.
You can see that there is also luftwaffe soldier, perhaps from the 18 VGD

So reserve troops of the hansen Kampfgruppe or an other unit attacking in the region perhaps

Modding / Re: Swastika Mod

Thanks for sharing, but don't the texture sheets say "No Swastikas added under any circumstances"?

I guess the DEV in question won't be happy to see them linked here, just giving you a heads up mate  ;)

:-\ yes, it's Rad's texture. I don't know enough about Rad health to ask him if he gave the permission.
I really don't want to worry him about that.

I hope this guy ask otherwise it would be a big lack of respect toward a great modder like Rad.
But again what could be better for Rad. Ignore it or get the guy who will ask rad about that.  :-[

Suggestions / Re: Winter War

Indeed, it depends on the work put on it.
Imo, mapping for the finnish would be the most time consuming.(~6 months developpment)
About weaponery, there is no problem, finnish could still use capture soviet stuff until they get their own national weapons in later patches.
I doubt we will see a new player model. it's too much work for a minor faction and this time will rather be used for the different soviet player models.

But overall, i wouldn't worry if we don't do something very specific. Imo mapping will rather decide if they will be in the eastern front patch (the day we do a eastern front patch).

General Discussion / Re: Exact Date

I'm a real ww2 player so it doesn't matter that this game or an other will release with better graphism etc ...
I think modern warfare is crap and the only late war i like is vietnam war.
So as long there is not an excellent ww2 battlefield-style video game released, there are no worries.

I know that FH2 is going to reach the greatest perfection of the ww2 internet gaming so i will play and work as long as i can on FH2.

I can understand the frustration (especially because i can play Normandy  ;D) but we can't make it faster.
Community can still developp content for FH2 and if it matches FH2 quality, it will be added and improve FH2 content (Fieseler Storch is an example of donated content, at boys etc ..)

We've had to limit realism a bit of course, in favor of gameplay. But don't worry, its still awesome, and its still very possible to die while climbing up.
;D indeed. I love my BAR
