timeline??
« on: 07-04-2011, 08:04:53 »
hey ive been playing fh2 for a month or so now on battlefield 2. and i am having lots of fun just killin bots in singleplayer. but i was curious if anybody knows the chronological order of the sp maps ( besides the saving private ryan one). i thought it would be a little more interesting to play if i knew what order these took place, if they did at all. im assuming the battles are somewhat historically correct based on the amount of information in the map description. so if anybody could let me know the order or if there isnt one, just thought it might be fun. also i think this mod is absolutly great! i can tell alot of time and effort was put into this and i think i speak for all the fans when i say we really appreciate it. thanks in advance!

Hard to implement considering how everyone hates so many North African maps back to back. Personally, I think that phase of 'Normany-only' is over, but what do I know...

Chronological order works only after we've got multiple fronts instead of just three since then you'd jump from other side of the world to another and have higher variation chances in the rotation.

Battlegroup42 has the map date as part of the map title (at the start). But that can make it difficult to find a map by name.

Yes,  the FH website does now show the map date and has very nice panorama screen shots  ;D

What they could do is to add the year at least to the end of the Map name, but that might make it long. Better yet, and I think that was a policy at some point, they could add the exact date and even time of day in the map description. There's just a tad too much mapping freedom imo, so some of these get forgotten all together.. kind of like the argument that commander assets are completely lacking in some maps.

i'd think that would never be the case since it means teams wont be tied together by anything - But who am i to argue

Some maps already mention it, and some maps are at clear times of day eg. Port en bessin, point du hoc, purple heart lane, hyacinth etc.
