Title: I'm having more problems (sorry for taking up your time)
Post by: flying fool on 25-03-2010, 19:03:07
Okay, I've taken into account the facts and hints people have given to me in " I suck completely at this game" thread. The two things that poped up the most where join a squad and go prone. this brings me onto my quiery, when I go prone the first shot often missed me but (it could be I panic) but my MG is still deploying or my SMG misses and I have to reload and by this time they've lined up a shot killing me with a instant kill headshot. what do I do? run to cover ( my thought ) or grenade/ charge with bayonet.
run to cover was my idea, because I'll have reloaded and they'll  follow me round so then we'er at face to face with SMG at the ready. Thanks for your time. :-\

SMG is really only usefull in close quater combat. Don't try to hit anything more then a stone throw away, you'll probally loose this fight.

And the larger MGs are meanly meant for fire support, dont't try to run around like rambo did with them.

When I started playing this mod, which was around 2.15, I thought man this is BS, I get killed by something out of nowhere. I still kept playing, started to think more or less like a soldier. Again, practice makes perfect. Now, remember to move from cover to cover. Squad up, indeed. But also play  with the squad. Remember to get in TEAMWORK or TEAMPLAY squads, since the squad leaders are not likely to be douchebags. They'll help, trust me.

Also, find what you are good at and use those skills at your advantage. If you aren't a sort of "Rambo" kind of guy, play scout, or any other kit that stays away from the main struggle. If not, play other kits and make sure to be with a squad(this is really important if you are playing with scout, Support gunner, or even simply rifleman). A squad can tell you what's going on around you, and with that you can support them and vice-versa.

I probably would of went with a bayonet charge. If you died, alwell, least you died fighting....but you were probably worthless anyway...a weak and brainwashed citizen fighting for an unjust cause; according to Natty  ;D. J/k.. but no.. I would of still went with that bayonet charge... forget the nade, by the time you pull it out and throw it, they'll be on top of you.

it is kind of hard to read what you want to say in your first post

but here it goes:

to join a squad press CAPSLOCK or press enter and in the upper left there is a sqaud tab

then simply join one or create a new one.

to go prone check what key you bound it on in the bf2 configs, i dont know what the default is...

anyways, i dont think you die of instant headshots. mostly because most people dont aim for head (at least not with rifles) since rifles and MGs kill with 1 hit anywhere but arms and legs.

even with SMGs dont try headshots unless you got the practice to do it. better make short bursts of 3- shoots into the center of the enemy (if he is standing/crouching)
and if he is prone use single shots.

and (almost) always use the iron sights, they greatly amplify your accuracy.

The "almost" means in such close quarters that you don't have time to bring up iron sights and you are certain to hit the enemy.

pick your weapon for the right thing
SMG= close combat
RIFLE= medium to long range
MG= supresing fire ,shot a lot of bullets :P
just don't freak if a enemy is in front of you
move from cover to cover and you may survive
get the hang of the game .
know your maps .
africa maps= open desert or urban desert city
normandy= is hedgerow country, urban city's and grass lands
in africa if in a city use the city
but in normandy you could use the grass or hedgerow as cover

You know, you don't have to matters about your gaming skill. I am also not the best player and I am not a no life gamer, but try to understand how you die each time it appens. After you saw what you did, you will understand more what to do in this situation and what not to do in this situation. And most of the time when you make good stats it's because a bit of luck. Sometimes I can die like 4 or 5 times before killing someone or sometimes I finish like in the top 10 players on 64 players just because I was at the good time at the good place. So, continue playing, stay a good player, try not to repeat the same errors and have fun !
