I have a question for all of you who served or still are serving. It all depends on what type of position you are looking for. The difference in requirements between paratrooper and radio operator at HQ are obviously big.
What were the physical prerequisites and control norms to pass the medical exam?
running certain distances on the clock, not having any chronic diseases and conditions?
Do they disqualify you for some conditions like alergies?
Same here. But majority seems to be happy and non-complaining
Fact. Nothing but smiles on my end.
On another note, I saw some videos about US infantry moving up side by side with some M1 Abrams in Fallujah and at some point the M1s started engaging a house with their cannons.Shouldn't be a problem as long as they're not in front of the gun (area of 180 degrees from the muzzle) when fired. Artillery crews with more powerful guns always stay close to the gun when fired (but no in front of it). It's not super pleasant but staying near a gun when fired is no problem as long as you don't get exposed too many times in a short period of time.
I doubt you'd want to be anywhere next to the 120mm when it fires.
Given that infantry would/will often use tanks as cover, is it actually dangerous to be close to the main gun when it fires? Is there anything tankers can/will do to warn close infantry?
