Bug Reporting / Re: Snowdrift clipping
« on: 21-10-2011, 10:10:11 »
Ahh cool thanks mate.

I think it's the only one, I did a little reccy' along the tree line to the left (while facing the town) and couldn't find another instance of the same clippable snowdrift.

Did take a while for me to get the sploiter out of that position, he was using a heavy machine gun and the noise gave him away, I couldn't tell where the fire was coming from.  I'll be watching that spot on that map from now on.

Anyone mentioned the snowdrift overlooking the town on Eppeldorf that you can go prone into and clip it so anyone passing can't see you but you can still shoot out?

It's in quite a vital elevated position overlooking the town and on quite a used route as the map plays out.

I will post details, but I don't want to give the position away too much - hence why I didn't post my screens straight away.

Is that You Tubes filters you've got on your vids now?

Each one keeps getting better and better, I love the way you edit the laughing into the background, how/where can I get a General Melchett "BEEEEENNNNGHHHH" noise like you have?

Nothing great, but here's what me and my ex-wife put together for me a couple of years ago, all made ourselves.

By Thors sweet hammer, I think what we are all missing here is that I've had my name specially mentioned in this weeks news item.  That's right gentlemens and gentleladies I am 'special'. I require special treatment at all times, if you see me charging you on the battlefield going full retard drop your weapon and let me shoot you... that is all.

Thanks to the devs for picking my screenshot last week, I've hundreds! Is there any hint that we could alter the rules to allow 2 or even 3 per person, per week? ... maybe not some folks just can't abide rules... meh.

"This is my Nebelwerfer, it werfs nebels"
"This is my flammenwerfer, it werfs flammens"

It does lack a crossbow though, and the ability to swing from tree to tree.
No no no, what the map really lacks is Nazi mecha, which ROTJ had! (Or the equivalent thereof.) Also, speeder bikes (or lacking that, Zündapps) would be welcome for sneaky backcapping.

Zundapps in Hurtgen Forest,... this is too much, I only have so much happiness to put into each day, I am overloaded and numb with joy.

1. Purple Heart Lane - 64p
I chose this one, because it plays well, it has an initial struggle for the U.S. forces to get going and they feel like they are being imba'd.  But once they get a foothold, the squeeze is on the Germans to protect everything because the map can fall pretty fast.
And 'Heart' rhymes with 'shart', as in, "I farted and some shit came out" - "dude you totally sharted!" - "I know, it was the Nebelwerfer that made me do it, lol broccolli!"

2. Bardia - 64p
I chose this because I haven't had the opportunity to film Italians in action, I do still feel they should have an uncappale point on the map, like a fall back position it would bring them out of their holes a bit more knowing at least one point is safe... but fuck it, the fighting is normally intense and all over the place, there are plenty of headless chicken moments and group ambition to defend points too.  The British initial advance over the troll bridges is tentative and poetic, like nobody wants to die, but they know someones going to have to go Boom!

3. Hurtgen Forest - 64p
I chose this because at times it reminds me of Star Wars RotJ battle for Endor, and that's nostalgic ("Yub nub").  There is a great diversity in German uniforms which looks uber cool. When the map loads and you realise you are on the allied team, there's an instananeous thought "fuck... this is going to be murder, I hope our artillery guy is not a fricking douche and s/he can use smoke shells too".
The fighting is quite gripping, I never feel there's ever a safe place to hide, and in some moments (as you will soon see) in the confusion of artillery and smoke - you can have U.S. and German forces seek cover in the same foxholes.
It does lack a crossbow though, and the ability to swing from tree to tree.

Shit balls, I do want Point Du Hoc, and Tobruk though, they are my favourites, so many maps so little time.

Valley of Death, interesting...  :)

I'll be having a look at some Tobruk when I get home, there's nothing more threatening than the Fh2 diving stukka noise, oh wait there is, 3 diving stukkas.

Anyone remeber anything note worthy that they experienced during FH-GN-18?

Played through the Bastonge battlerecorder footage yesterday, like 3 times, fuck what a boring battle  >:(

a pleasure sir  Djinn :) I like squad leaders who are actively thinking about plans to attack or defend like yourself, sometimes you do get wrapped up in the battle trying to order the whole team, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, just you sometimes scare me how seriously you take the fight  :D

I got to say another lol moment was driving through tank fire to deliver moose a Kubelwagon we met up at the tree line in Oberdorf and I handed it over, neither of us shot at each other, quite a strange gaming moment, he then raced off and I walked back to my squad.  Friendship extends beyond the uniform you wear.
