The Me-109 has better performance in higher altitude compared to FW-190 with radial engines (series A). Thus the 109 was kept in production, and even upgraded with DB-605, a more powerful engine with better supercharger, making the plane comparable to late-war adversaries.

Moreover FW-190 has a problem with heat. Although a radial engine, it needs an extra reciprocating fan to be installed in front of the massive BMW 801R to cool it down. Installing a bigger supercharger will only increase its weight and reduce reliability. Thus it can't fly high to intercept Allied bomber formations, let alone its escorts. But then FW-190 got new engine, it was called FW-190D, the long nose Dora, which is fitted with Jumo inverted V-12 engine. It became perfect. The Jumo (forgot the serial) can produce up to 2,000 HP at boost, enabling it to match the latest American fighter. However, its aging airframe design from 1941 limits its top speed. It can't easily catch or  outdive Mustangs nor Thunderbolts.

The one in the foreground should be the Fuso or its sistership Yamashiro.

Edit: Also possible that it's a ship from "Ise class". Looks similar. The screenshots cannon positions apply more to the Fuso class though, so I think that's one of the 2 from that class.
Its

so beautifull

And i think operating costs where a important factor.

Basically Butcher, as far as I know and can tell, the Bf109 and Fw190 were about even numbers after 1942/43 or so.  The Bf109 never stopped getting upgraded through the G and K models, and the Fw190 got a rebirth with the D long nose.

While we are at it:

I got my name from the nickname of the FW 190: "Butcher Bird"
Did the BF 109 have any nickname?
He got banned for our sins. He was not the member FH forums deserved, he was the member we needed.

germans used  may hundert-neun  and British emm ee one-oh-nine

German pilots often used the variants names as nicknames.

Russians called the Me 109 "The skinny one" (because the FW 190 appeared more fatter)

The G-6 model got called by luftwaffe pilots =Die Beule

But a common nickname? like spitfire, mustang, butcher bird
ME109 dint had that

..though "Mersu" even at the time had originally referred (and still refers today) to Mercedes-Benz. However, since Bf 109 was powered by Daimler-Benz engine, the nickname was doubly appropriate. :P It wasn't the only one to get a recycled car nickname, one of Brewster 239's nicknames was "amerikanrauta" which was a common nickname for all American cars ("American iron" literally or "American hardware").

I heard that since FW-190D entered production, Me-109 was like completely replaced from front line duties. It was into short-range interceptors or relegated into just "airbase guards."

I have never heard of that, and considering the shortages in aircraft, highly doubt that would ever happen.

Instead of becoming more creepy this one actually took advantage of evolution; making himself/herself cuter. I'd never smash that cutie.

I heard that since FW-190D entered production, Me-109 was like completely replaced from front line duties. It was into short-range interceptors or relegated into just "airbase guards."
190D was still at its best at medium altitudes at the most (which of course was an improvement over the 190A which was at its best at low altitudes). In exchange for higher top speed and climb rate and better performance at altitude, the D gave up a lot in roll rate and turn rate. And in the end, the current 109 model (K) was still faster at altitude. 109 was built as a high-altitude interceptor from the start, too bad that its aerodynamics didn't allow much in the way of heavier weaponry (apart from upgunning the engine cannon from 20 to 30 mm caliber and the cowling guns from 7.92 to 13 mm  - which despite similar barrel caliber still had only about half of the kinetic energy of the American .50 BMG round) - external weaponry made 109 into another bomber-destroyer that needed fighter cover to survive actual fighters (like the Sturmbock 190's). Also, the airframe was at the end of its evolution: the supposed next steps, the 209-II and 309, were epic fails that were actually inferior to the original 109G/K and the 190D.

All the improvements in 190 meant that the D was no longer completely worthless above 6 klicks, but the 109 still performed much better there. Also, the American fighters they were supposed to encounter there were actually optimized for high-altitude flight. Notably the Jug became the more manoeuverable (relative to other fighters) the higher up it went (when the absolute area of wings and control surfaces finally overcame the problem of wing loading, and the wtfhueg turbocharger could shine). In the East, though, there it would have made actually sense to replace the 109 with 190D as the fights never really went up above medium altitudes, being usually low (and what with there being the F and G ground-attack variants also in heavy use there). Not that it would have made any difference against the wtfhueg numbers the Soviets had to throw against them, either (also with the sneaky Murricans producing a low-altitude optimized strike fighter, the Kobruysha, for the Soviets).

if I ever encountered that little fucker, I would probably freak out and kill it by instinct. Then, out of regret, I would go and work on getting my karmic balance back into the positive.
