Gentlemen,

Historia is in election mode for the next week. The praesidium is running at its end and a new one has to be chosen.

There are 2 parties, first up: Ellen for Praesident (capitalists), they are made up of current MP's and are looking to continue the dynasty set by our over(gay)lord Cedric. They have some good things going for them: an armed bodyguard from the Netherlands, a few ladies including the one who has been named Historia Babe and Historia Boobs (we call her tettemie) and a lot of free food and drinks.

The other party is called "The Party". They are the communists. In their party program we see such things as a rocket launch, a MAD cantus, more free food and drinks, more vodka, an Iron Curtain party, a long-term future planning and a lottery, where you can win a shed in Ninove (I shit you not).

Here is my dilemma: for whom should I vote? I like the communists only for their connection to Russia, which is a cool place with a cool language. I could vote for them but if I do, I would be betraying myself and my allegiance to Mon Empereur (not to mention an angry dutchman with a musket).

opinions?

I still do not get what kind of election that is and what exactly are the historians of leuven ? I found out that leuven is a city in belgium. Are there parties for the chairmanship of a club with historical interested people or what ? (wtf, that sounds too strange to be true)

Generally, go for the capitalists. The fact that the communists have a better connection to Russia is funny for sure, but more frightening than positive to me.

Anyway, choose waht you feel best to choose and please explain me what the hell this election is about :D Your first post is like 100 % mindfuck to me, sry xD

So, today i saw a train derail, not that much damage, just 2 carriages left the tracks. It made less noice then i thought it would, i was about 50 meters away and the train was not going that fast, maybe 40km/h. Still impressive, the carriage was really shaking hard when driving next to the tracks and i thought it would flip.

Do any of you have ever seen something rather special, rare, spectacular?

When I was younger I saw an orange fireball slowly decending through the sky and disappear behind the mountains. Like a shooting star/comet but a lot more awesome. Of course, I noticed it when I was falling asleep, woke up in a jolt and couldnt convince myself to stop thinking about all those History Channel meteor impact shows I had watched. >_>

I saw a piece of ceiling fall on my friend's head in the classroom...

It seemed so... unreal... I guess my brain couldn't comprehend what was happening.

Me and two friends had an Indiana Jones-moment in the Paris Metro, we had just exited the last train of the night and were walking for the exit, and saw the cleaning lady was lowering the security-fence, so we started to run towards it shouting wait and slid under it.
It's half naked people on boats. That's all.
Here in Finland we call that "summer".

It can't be an Indiana Jones moment unless you had to reach under the closing slats to retrieve your hat.

I once saw a confused man shitting on the platform in the subway during rush hour. I noticed there is a very high percentage of weird people driving underground, this was just the weirdest of them all.
He got banned for our sins. He was not the member FH forums deserved, he was the member we needed.

Hmm. That's an interesting question, actually. At the moment I can only remember a couple of car incidents. Nothing amazing, but still.

-As a small child my dad, sister, and me were heading from our summerhouse by car in the night. I was in the passenger seat asleep when we hit a quite large deer. I didn't wake up until later when a cop was shining his light in my face asking my dad if I was injured. I didn't know anything about the crash until the next morning when I saw the remains of the car... let's just say it was beyond repair.

-Going home from school in a friends car, I was again in the passenger seat. The car in front of us slammed the breaks because a cat (!) was crossing the road. We smashed into their behind. I saw it happen in slow motion as I just turned my head from the side window towards the road. I just said "Ei vittu" ("Aw, fuck") and grabbed the ceiling handle a second before we hit them.

-I saw a group of polish people charge into a group of turkish people and they started to fight. Little detail=I was in the middle

-Saw how a motorcycle got scooped up by a truck but the guy landed in a pond of water, saving his sorry ass

-Saw once an sudden engine fire on a fouga magister on kleine brogel during sanicole airshow, that was some pretty neat shit
-i am fairly sure that if they took porn off the internet, there would only be one website left and it would be called bring back the porn "Perry cox, Scrubs.

A mate drove to an away game taking 4 people with him. I sat on the backseat. On a (german) motorway junction there are those very long but tight turns, recommened speed is 40-60 km/h. He went in with nearly 100.

At the beginning i just thought, that its probably a bit too fast, then too fast, then way too fast. At the last part of the turn, the car was nearly unable to take the turn and close to hit the guardrail. Then the driver swang the steering wheel to the right.
The car was sliding first, probably looked like a decent drift lol. Then the car suddenly was driving on the 2 left tires, while the right ones were a bit in the air.
Due to that the driver was unable to control the car for that time and nearly drove into the guardrail, he just got the car turned though.
At the end of the turn you drive up on the regular motorway again, car was still sliding with the rear more left than the front and we barely missed a car with the rear of ours, which was driving on the right of the motorway.I felt like in an action film.

Funny thing is that you tend to forget such things quite fast, but it was so close to a really tough accident.

Car-slowmotion, I know all about that Biiviz. Last december I was driving in my car, looked to the right and saw a Ford coming at me driving pretty hard. All I thought was 'oh, fuck' and my foot went down on the gas paddle. Then I looked forward again heard a large bang and saw the world spinning. But yeah, that 1 second felt like 10. And that kids, was the day your uncle Fuchs almost broke someone else's neck in public.
