The Forgotten Hope 2 Common Shaders Problem and Why I am Going to Kill Myself

So... I have the FH2 shaders problem, the one that you can't even start the game with.  Please do not link me to the Common Problems/Solutions page, I've seen it.  The fact is I get this error about every week, and every week I've been able to fix it, until now.  After I get the little pop-up and the game crashes, I usually just check in the FH files, and every week it seems that the shaders_client.zip in the Fh mod section has mysteriously disappeared, so I replace it. This week, when I replaced it, nothing happened.  All of my files are in place.  I have no idea why I can't friggin play the game.

Well I can't see what you are doing and how you are doing it, but it helps if you make a small document with screenshots of every step you take to solve this problem.
This way some of us can point any error you make.

Same thing happened to me. So I gave up. Maybe it will be easier when 2.26 is released? I'm running W7 aswell.

What I have always been doing, successfully, until now is downloading new shaders and putting them back in the FH directory.

tried reinstalling the whole deal ? Lots of work, I know...but sometimes for me this kind of errors need that to stay away PERMANENTLY

Same problem i am having, so i am re installing everything now since it messed up everything to do with Bf2. Which is very annoying .

Tried all the fixes numerous times to no prevail. SO this is my last go at it. If the re install doesn't work then  no more fh2 for me.

Do you have a copy of your shaders in a folder? then, if you notice they are missing before you launch, you can force feed them to FH2

When you re-download the shaders install them,and hit ctrl-c, and then over your desktop hit ctrl-v. Now you have backup displayed there.



ctrl-c on below file. And simply ctrl-v on your desktop to make a copy.

i once had that shader problem when i installed PR

After ALOT of raging i simply removed everything, and just reinstalled FH2

i dont get it
there are 2 files that get moved around/exchanged/renamed when starting fh2.exe

problems can be:                             -->    solution
1 or more files are not existing            -->  redownlaod them and add them where they belong
1 or more of the files that get back upped/moved already exist   --> delete the copies
you dont have enough rights/permission to move/change those files    -->    start with admin rights

there is 1 shader_client.zip in the bf2/mods/bf2  folder
and
there is 1 shader_client.zip in the bf2/mods/fh2 folder

all that happens is
the one in the bf2/mods/bf2 folder gets renamed to shader_client.zip.backup
then the one from the  bf2/mods/fh2 folder gets copied into the bf2/mods/bf2  folder.

and when closing the process is reverted.

i cant understand where the "big problem" is.

if you dont play any other mods/ or vanilla bf2 (like i do)

you could simply FORCE FEED the fh2 shaders in there.
by manually copying the fh2 shaders in the bf2 shader
then the fh2.exe might produce the error on startup but you should be able to skip it and since the fh2 shaders are loaded it should work ingame.  (thats how you get it to work on steam with bf2/fh2)

Why did you unpack the shader files?! They don't need to be unpacked/extracted!  

You just have to put the shader files in mods>fh2 and mods>bf2.

That is what I'm saying.  I DID do that.  I HAVE done that.  Like 100 times.  And it is not working.
