So, the Spanish took Rome.  You might not have noticed, but if you capture a capital, you get half of all the money that the enemy nation has on hand at the time.  Fuchs is in a bad position now...

Plus there are French Commandos raiding the souther part of Italy. Naval infiltrations ftw!
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

There is a mayor Swedish and Italian offensive on France tough :s

So you get half the cash? That's  interesting, do you get something then when you take a regular province as well?

I think you get one day's worth of its resource production up front.

EDIT:  Confirmed.  I got a deposit of Fish and Coal when I took Canea and Pyrgos.

It's kinda underhanded if you're gonna go outside the game to discuss things, guys.  Now, by saying this, it obviously means I have spies somewhere (which I'm sure everyone else does too), but intercepting communications is part of the game.  It's basically cheating if you use an outside source to discuss strategy and stuff.

We already agreed not to use GoldMarks and not to discuss secrets and stuff here in this thread (whether or not this counts as a "secret," I don't care because it needs to be said).  Maybe we should also agree not to go outside the game system to discuss strategy?  I kinda figured that this "rule" didn't need to be made, but obviously it does.

For the record, this has come up on the Supremacy forums as an issue (people are/were using the Supremacy forums' PM system instead of the ingame communication system to discuss strategy), and pretty much everyone there agrees its a dick move.

Being this is the first game we play i consider this as a try out and not really a serious game, still, almost everybody can see that lyons is about to have a serious fight so it is not really a secret, at least not to those that are involved in it.

I'm actually upset about the communication I intercepted asking someone to forego the in-game message system in favor of outside communication, specifically so the messages couldn't be intercepted.  I feel that's underhanded and borderline cheating.

Not naming any names right now.

Then how about next game, we set up a punishment system for someone who gets caught attempting or engaging in this activity.

That's the thing, unless the participants come forward and admit they were doing it, or if they initiate it ingame where it can be intercepted (what happened this time by total chance [lawl, lets use MSN so peeps can't see our messages! (paraphrased)]), there's no way you can "catch" them.

You find it cheating, I find it playing creative.

God bless CPS for leting me know about this game  ;D
And yes the retreat function does miss in the game.
'Bout that PM thing, I don't mind because intercepting isn't such a big thing.
I mean, I've been using it but I wouldn't miss it if it wanishes tomorrow.
