99.7% positive ? Don't you think you're exagerating a bit too much ?  :P

Anyway, for those who are concerned about blur/vignette/color changes, don't worry. There should also be an alternative shader without those effects for those who can't stand them for a reason or another.  ;)
I know that I'm not a beta and I know shit about developement progress, but I must disagree. There shouldn't be any alternative shader for anyone. All play the same FH2 under the same conditions or do not play any FH2. I guess you are in "0,3%"  :-\

I'm sure you're aware that everything apart from what your eyes focus directly on in real life is out of focus?  ...
yeah, as Josh said. This thing is called eye accommodation. This is something so obvious because it is natural (unless you have astigmatism or something?) that many of us simply don't pay attention to it. And when our sight is usually focused on whole screen it requires to simulate this effect in game and this is probably the best way to do this on 6 year old game engine without affecting gameplay much.

...The film grain is OK but the vignetting around the corners is really annoying in my opinion. Both in the screenshots and in the video.
there isn't much of this effect, some screenshots are ironsighted what enhances vignetting. Also, what is most important to me - this solution improves camuflage as everything is less cartoonish clear. It works like free anti alliasing and make things feel more natural - this is what I've noticed from that sreenshots (and was told here before)... just do not look at FH2 through the prism of the newest games!

why would you add a Film grain to the graphics. that's about the stupidest thing I have seen.

I thought FH was about reality. Its not like we are watching a movie. We are supposed to be playing in first person. Are you know saying people in the 40's had Film grain vision?

This really just becomes another reason to play on low settings because you cut out most of the crap like undergrowth and effects and it gives you 10 times better battlefield situational awareness.
AFAIK devs took care of it and different settings do NOT give you advantages and disadvantages (at least they reduce them to minimum what makes it tolerably fair for everyone). Unfortunately for you this game is smacktard / dickhead-proof in many ways...  ::)

I think the trailer is great jan kurator. Did you make the Liberation trailer as well?

Love the grain effect, it's a bit in your face, but I'm sure it'll be different when we're ingame. Not unlike a ticking clock which you don't hear after a while.
Good to hear that you like it, but it's made by beta tester Kubador for clarification! ;) I have nothing to do with that teaser and don't know who made "Liberation" trailer  :P

Cheers!

Yeah, that leak pic looks great, but there is very little grain effect comparing to WIP screenshots. It's shame that you have already shown us those WIPs because I really like the grain effect and now it is reduced to 'minimum' and I'm a little bit dissapointed. But still looking good!  ;)

I hope that airplane engines sounds will be improved If we will ever see dogfiht map done. I wish to hear something so powerful as these when some beast will flyby over my head:

It's so nice to see so many positive comments on this uptade! Devs must be pretty proud of their work! ^^
Sometimes I can't believe that FH2 is still a battlefield 2 modification. It does not need to worry about new games as a competition. Although many people exaggerate about new graphics, it's not a whole new game ppl, don't overexcited or just try to! (as I do  ;D )

I hope we get bigger players base after 2.4 release and this realese will keep new players coming and stay with FH2!  ::)

The grain effect in the video can be barely seen, about teaser itself - I liked artistic vision of it but there is something wrong in 0:23 there are no distant sounds for a moment and I don't like the black screen transition in 0:30 - it looks odd. Also the snow effect in the end a little bit spoils this teaser, because some ppl could think that it is an ingame snow which is not. :P

I allowed myself to quote Nissi as I have read about it recently:

It's a little but very annoying issue.

You can solve it with the following procedure:
- start up editor
- load your map
- start photoshop (can be simply the program without any pic.. or whatever you like)
- close photoshop
- now it works.

Had this as well and it drove me crazy. It's a driver or something similar that is not loaded by Vista or Win7. Not sure which other program contain that little driver in the case you don't have photoshop. Download the free trial over at adobe and it works.

cheers
Nissi

Also this from kummitus:
win7 is afaik lacking some dll file that is loaded in winxp and photoshop does load it and fixes the problem.

I hope that explain that and that OPs will not get mad at me for using their post.

 ;)

For those who asked for screenshots comparing old and new graphics:

The shadows stand out more, the bright sunny desert looks brighter and the overcast skys just look darker...

Btw, I also love the color correction ;)

New graphics (contrast&grain) reminds me of enb series a little bit, but looks much better!

the last pic of jan_kurator is a good example, the grain effect is way less obvious in the current build. that  picture makes it look very bad.
Dude, I compared those screens to show how f*cking amazing are new effects. They look very GOOD imo!  ;D

New graphics look so amazing... FH2 already surpassed vanilla bf graphics at the first day after it's realese but I just have compared new screenshots with some random bf2 ones and lol'd
