"Disallowed Program/Driver" Punkbuster error
« on: 17-07-2011, 05:07:03 »
So, as a few of you know, I have had massive problems with getting FH2.4 to work.  First it wouldn't install, then BF2 registry was disappeared, then BF2 wouldn't install after I deleted, cuz the CD's weren't working.  So I bought BF2 on steam, installed the full install for 2.4, and etc.  Ran it, runs fine through steam on SP and local servers.  Then I tried joining wolf just now.  It immediately kicked me for Punkbuster being out of date.  Ok I thought, that's an easy fix.  I downloaded PBsetup, ran the updater until it said I was up to date, and rejoined.  This time I was in for a bit longer before I was kicked, with this error message:

"Disallowed Program/Driver"

Wat |:  Help please o.=.o

Check the searchbutton next time m8  ;D
See if your FH2.4 Exe is running in WInXP modus.

Actually, topic closed!  Forgot to post this last night.

Kev was able to help me, apparently booting through steam causes the steam overlay to be there.  This was the 'disallowed" program for punkbuster.  He led me to the correct exe to use, and now all is good, got in a good two rounds of Eppelsdorf and Giarabub last night ;)
