Today I called the shop, if they still have the K98 rifle and they told me, it was sold 3 weeks ago...  :P
Maybe I can grab another one. My neighbor has a K98 sniper which his father kept after the war was over.
Otherwise my search goes on...

Found something else for 250€

Looks like it is new...

Well, it is not in my mind to modify a good old K98k.   ;D
There are tons of rifles out there which already have a scope mounted and will cost less than modifying such a rifle.  ;)
But this is another story and going to far off.

Thanks for your advice.  :)
If the third rifle is in good condition for shooting (clean barrel and working system) I gonna buy it.

I'd like to use this rifle for wildboar hunting - so the collectors worth is a minor issue.
Non the less, I want to own a pretty decent K98.
The stock looks pretty good which caught my attention.
All the other available rifles have have a much more "used" look.

This last one also looks interesting:

Hi,

I want to buy a Mauser K98k.
I found one at a local trader and searched the internet, why it has no bayonet lug.
http://www.austrojagd.com/gebrauchtwaffen-detail/2199/mauser-m-98
I found out, that it is a "Kriegsmodell".
So my two questions are:

What do you think of the condition / pricing by judging those two pictures?
and
Is it possible to mount a bayonet lug, so I can attach a bayonet to it?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Well, if i would have been drafted i would have probably ended up at the 8.8cm Flak battery at the Zwölfaxing airbase where JU-87 and FW-58's where stationed, if i would've enlisted id probably ended up as pilot at the aviation school in Wiener Neustadt and then put back to Zwölfaxing to bomb Russians. Austrians actually rarely got sent to the front, only some few regiments which where combined with SS forces where actually sent into ground combat. Most Austrians where used for AA or pilot duty.

Actually all my relatives got drawn into the war, served and died at the Eastern Front.
My grandfather even was in Stalingrad and he got flown home due to his serious injuries.
I think the West Front would have been the better deal.

I wrote 1 mail, got a letter in return, went to the interview,2 weeks later i got a letter saying i could come in a few weeks later. Done.

Nothing to it really.

Same for me.
Now I am a technical engineer designing machines which produce car parts.
I got several connections during my school time as our school was financed by several companies in our region. With my very good final exam it was easy to get a job like that in our region and I am well paid too, at least for now  ;)
As stated above skill is not all but you also need to know people, some kind of corruption anyway but that's the way everything works.

Shame on you trading a GIFTED NS2 version. Those are for free and should go out for a hug! ^^

I don't like digital hugs - feel kinda strange  ;)

I felt a little bit sad about quenten's death and also about the fact that jon connington is diseased while Tyrion, which was one of my favourite characters until he murdered his father, is alive and well.

If he defeated Stannis, surely he would have Reek and Jeyne.

I don't think that Bolton's troops reached that far as they also lacked horses and Mors Umber was lurking 3 miles away of Winterfell and sent those two prisoners to Stannis. I hope Mors and Manderly took on those foul Freys and killed them.

Concerning the theories of Lighting about Jon and Daenerys:
I think Melisandre could revive Jon to make him the true "Reborn", but I don't think that he will team up with her.

I am eagerly awaiting Victarions story about his dragon hunt.

If someone publicly says they want to wipe Israel off the map and at the same time try to build nuclear bombs id kick their asses too ..
It's interesting how translation vary  ;)
I read somewhere that he said something different about Israel but Israel's media translated it different to use it as propaganda. There was an article at RT news about an Israel politican telling about this lie.

It is quite interesting to read those stories of your relatives and so I want to give you insight into my relatives fate:

My grandfather was drawn into the war, because the Austrians were forced to serve in the German army.  He went with the 6th Army towards the east and reached Stalingrad. There he was badly wounded:
* a shot in his neck
* a shot in his arm - his arm got stiff
* a shot in his upper leg - he limped
* grenade fragments in his face - from time to time some of them came down his nose and he collected them
An air ambulance, a JU52 transported him back to Germany and he was the last who got on that plane. He was moved around in Germany from one hospital to another.
After getting fit he got home to his farm and he lived his live.
The irony is that he died at the age of 56 due to a heart attack caused by heavy smoking.
He kepped smocking, although everybody warned him, because a cigarette saved his live once in the hell of Stalingrad.
I never got to know him, because he died in 1977 and I was born 14 years later.

My great-grandfather fought also on the eastern front and died 1941 at Kiev.
My great grandmother got his service book which was cowered with his blood when she was told that he died. His brother died 1944, also fighting at the eastern front.

This are only my closest relatives but my family lost  a lot of men in the war.
