I wonder why McGibs doesn't do pre-theater-release artwork for FH2 anyomore.. I used to LOVE all those little tidbits

The British charge, the DAK soldat, the Germans at Supercharge and the DAK babe... whatever happened to all that - Really made for darn good packaging :(

And the FH2 cover competetion - Can we organise that again? I wont want to start a thread on it myself cuz I don't do Photoshop

Can someone make me a new sig please.

Must contain these two flags somewhere in it:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a8/Flag_of_Devon.svg/500px-Flag_of_Devon.svg.png (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a8/Flag_of_Devon.svg/500px-Flag_of_Devon.svg.png)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/25/Berkshire_flag.gif (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/25/Berkshire_flag.gif)

Rest of it should contain the final panel of this comic (without the walrus (and the fox if you can't get him to fit)).  Some text like "Winning is for losers" or similar.  Adding my name is entirely optional.
http://houserules.org.uk/strips/2000/om20001101-c.jpg (http://houserules.org.uk/strips/2000/om20001101-c.jpg)

Remember 80x600.
Hope I've not been too picky that no one attempts it! ;D

Infantry Tank Mark IV "Churchill".

The image is of a Mk.VII, so the '6pdr, 104mm (armour)' is still incorrect, even if you suppose 'Mark IV' to mean 'Infantry Tank Mark IV'.  ;)

Could someone do a sig for me with a bunch of krouts doing something PzP like?  Throw in the 130th Panzer Lehr bit and put Unteroffizier Lainer PzP.  Ohh and the Lehr shield thing would be swell as well.

Someone should really do a nice sig up for that guy.

'Cause I added right tags to it.  If the fading had been on the other side, I'd have left it as normal.

seriously warrior, you suck ass as much as you kiss it, while I would throw you to the wolves who probably wouldn't want you anyway, the fact that you are trying to use photoshop is admirable.  But, the truth remains, your VM sig is shit.

Your passage of thinking is plain as the nose on your face, VM = Lafette that's all.  Adding the two things together is not uber, nor l33t.

This took me 3mins 52 seconds,...

...and I accounted for image shacks crappy upload time.  If you're seriously getting headaches when using photoshop then keep using it maybe you'll have a haemorrhage or something.

I want a personal one, it should contain:
A T-34 tank, because they are cool
Miss Campo, because she is hot
Some nice quote to show that I'm bad ass.
And a reference to [F|H] community.

Can someone help me?
If it look good I promise to wear it.

Waves in calm water with the right being too transparent, those lines go towards the foreground.
The line that gleans with the sun is a nice touch, but not the birds.

Nice theme.

thanks those are tips I can use!
Indeed i'm not sure about the birds, and the wave on the right will be adjusted.

Thanks!

First thing I saw.  When I scrolled the image (the original image is bigger than my screen), I figured out it was some sort of ice formation...  I originally thought it was some sort of sea dragon emerging from the water...

Actually, I originally thought it was a screenshot from that "Dragons" documentary on Animal Planet...

This time I am with the Warrior;
The music may not (at least in my opinion) fit with the movie, but the overall video is ok. It also is ok to have the music in the background - thus allowing to include game sounds. It might be laggy but I think it was made quick and just for own enjoyment.

Only one thing bothers me: Why don't you get a full version of Fraps?

Actually, *any* version of Photoshop including age old 6.0, 7.0, CS1 are fine.
Even better, the LE versions of Photoshop are perfectly suitable as well (which can be found for a few dollars or for free if you scourge your family/friends cd's - often bundled with digital cameras, scanners etc).

If you like my signatures, keep in mind that they are 99% handwork. It could be done with something like Paintshop Pro, Coreldraw, even Indesign or Illustrator or similar vector based package.

In the end, anything except paint will do :)

I am suspecting this has to do with monitor type and settings as well. I'm on a calibrated PVA screen here that can probably show a good bit more dynamic range than yours/others. I will try to play it on the safe side..

I really like the 'light' feel of white on lighter colours, but maybe for more varied non-calibrated monitors I will enlarge the contrast on previous signatures as well. Thanks for the heads up :)

When I first joined the forum, I stared at your signature for 5 minutes, it was kind of a mindtrip

oo oo do me, do me!  Can it... have a You Tube favicon on there somewhere.  I don't specialise in anything, but I do like the fh2 graveyards, or... mg42, or... german helmet... or anything german, I'm a pretty good pilot if I am allowed to take off the runway.

I did my best, it does make you a lot more sinister now  8) . I used the M40 helmet (Luftwaffe) so you have both your pilotskills and your german stahlhelmet ;). The texture on the background is from a M35 dark grey helmet. I replaced the swastika on the helmet with my * signature mark for two reasons ;).

Ow..I forgot about the youtube icon...I tried putting it in afterwards but it is completely incompatible and really ruins the feel. Hope youre ok with that..

Free French sig!  Free French sig!  S'il te plait.

Tomorrow, maybe tuesday..... first :

- Taxes 2009 + some 2008 crap (and my archive is like Point du Hoc..)
- Write big fat article for magazine that needs 1 week and only done 5 lines of text. Needs to be finisht tomorrow.
- Girlfriend will be here tomorrow, kicked here out for a week because of the above. She wants <3 ...

So. Tuesday, probably. Patience!

This sig is anyway meant just to be temporary "joke". It's amazing how paint can fuck up even simple screenshot like that  :(.

Ok, here's the deal.

My current avatar was never meant to be permenant.  It was simply for fun, but it stuck.

I need a new one.

I'm looking for one that will catch my uniqueness.  One like the sig that was randomly made for me, which I love.  It PERFECTLY caught who I am, sarcastic, lafette, bi, and furry.  But I would love an avatar that fit me perfectly too, made by someone who has actually known me for years on these forums (sorry new guys, but I just feel that someone who has been with me through thick and thin for 3, 4, 5 years is better qualified into the real me).  Do your worst guys, I know you won't fail me :)  I  shall repay in amply hugs and kisses.

Not my own artwork (I'm a horrible drawer, but I'm trying to improve.) but still a great commision I got from a simply amazing artist in Poland.  He's the only guy in the furry art community I've ever seen actually draw things correct for WW2 uniforms...and rarely, if ever, takes commisions, so I count myself very lucky that he choose to draw my fursona.  Here it is, as an Unteroffizer of the Fallschirmjager  (awards are jump badge, black wound badge, EKII, War Merit cross, Russian front, service badge, and sudetenland badge):

HOLY SHIT the "Tsar Bomba" of 1961 is friggin scary ... largest nuclear explosion ever recorded. It puts it in perspective when you can see its size in relation to familiar land marks.

There's a link on that page to "Ground Zero II" which also shows the blast wave and fallout. Though I doubt that asteroids consist of mostly radioactive materials ;)

about radiation, alfa goes a few centimeter in air, beta- and beta+ go about 12 meter true air, gamma goes straight true the planet and out of our solar system :)

No need to protect against gamma, for the beta is a suit of about 0,75mm lead more then enough and for the alfa is a paper overal already overkill.

If you breath some dust in that gives alfa or beta radiation you have a problem, they do a lot of damage to the body. The beta also creates 2 alfa when it hits an atom  ;)

Gamma is more difficult, very high level do almost no damage, medium levels is used in normal x ray and can do some damage, but the benefit is worth it, for every person it kills it saved at least 1000 lives. The low levels are known to normal people as light and the very low ones as radio waves.

So radiation isn't the problem, its the dust, and the fact that it is hard to find an alfa source since it is hard to detect yet kills you easily if you eat or breath it in :)

Title: The General Creativity Thread: Show off your skills!
Post by: Hockeywarrior on 03-05-2010, 03:05:38
I know I know: "Jesus not another ______ THREAD. Why do people keep making these things??"

Well, I'm sure there are plenty of talented people out there in our community and I think there should be a thread where people can show off their talents in whatever areas they're good at, in ways not (necessarily) related to FH. Besides, a thread like this existed on the FF forums and people posted some really interesting stuff.

So I'll start us off with my video and musical compositions. Here are links to all of my cinematic movies for Red Orchestra (in chronological order):

Red Orchestra: Safety First! (funny, kind of)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYBhhHDW9sY

Red Orchestra: Frostbite
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDKixcK3mcI

Red Orchestra: Killing Fields
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pgz0i0fDQs

Red Orchestra: Overture to War (the best)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFHk9Wz8mag

"No Time to Die" - A Digital Short (GTA4 video made with the ingame movie editor)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXyucattej0

And here are videos containing two musical arrangements of movie music for brass quintet (I play trumpet and am a music student). They were performed/recorded by my brass quintet at school.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dT92Wc9gRM

Indana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (uploaded today!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFrAJGC2VQA

So everyone post your stuff and leave comments!

It's quite sad that all the war-era posters are artistically very interesting, unique and even 'modern' you could say. Sad because of the depicted content and associated negativism.

I like them however, especially the German ones that have a particular style to them that you cannot find anywhere else in the world. Some of the French designs come close, but lack the 'darkness' that is often present in the German ones :

Title: Re: FH Community Creativity Thread

...you could argue that the post impressionist - futurist movement that German artists had at the time (of WWII) has it's roots buried in the very coutries it had eyes to dominate, France's Impressionist movement that brought artists in touch with almost errie zombie like palettes to depict "picnics by the Sane", and Russia's uprising constructivist movement epitomising ecconomical growth through visual format, ie everthing must be chiselled from hard assed granite.

Of course add some marriage with the sysmbolism that the German army of the time chose to adopt, blacks and greys, clawed eagles, skulls, wolfs heads, knights, it's not exactly painting a nice picture to start with... almost like "hey we are TEH bad guyzzz" from the start.

Installed photoshop on my iMac now and gave it for a quick spin.

Tried to make slussen in Stockholm look like a miniature model, not very happy with it but just something I threw together in a couple of minutes, trying to relearn what I've forgotten the last year since I used it last time.

Also, I'll try to make a miniature model again later tonight, from a better picture. Kinda too much detail in this one for it to look like a model.

I like it.  Is the model just giant, photoshopped, or is the skyline in the back there just a paper wall?

oh :) nice to hear that it worked. I'll do another one anyway later, if I find a better pic.

@warrior
nah it's photoshopped. It's not a model :P I just photoshopped this picture:

lol warrior... :P you relly do.

Thanks fatjoe! I'm kinda amazed at how easy it was done. takes literally 1 minute to make one.

another attempt at photoshop. Now I tried something much more complicated than what I've done before. Quite happy with the result since I just took my worthless old nikon camera and snapped a picture of some maps.

A better picture would have given a better result.

Anyway, here's my ball of glass.

Really wanted a better background. But unitl I have a camera i have to settle for whatever I can find on the net. In 5 minutes I*ll come with another version.

The text was hurried. just wrote it and added some blur.

Okay another one:

Something like this was my plan in the first place. but chose "linear burn" on the first one" = turned the smoke black. Before joe was too light to be visible against the concrete, with linear burn he is visible so made this one right now.

Not happy at all with the text though. Wanted a better line but didn't wanna think through what lyrics I like. Didn't spend any time on the text either.

Hi lads, I have a request. The thing is I need to hone my graphical skills and I do it best when I have a purpose. I'd like to hear any volounteers that'd like to recieve a fancy text with their nick (you can specify a name if you want different one). You can add what you'd like it to look like (f.e. swirly, western etc.) but I can't promise it will look like you 'ordered' it. It's free so what do you have to lose?

Uh oh, Imma in a hurry so the above might be unclear. In short -> You tell me a name/nick and I make a graphic around it. Get set, go!

For now something I made for homer. I know it may not be the 'beer, donut and tank' themed but somehow I feel this style suits you best. If you want I can make a nice background and make it a sig for you. Anyway, you're free to use to your own liking. {Edit} It's fresh from illustrator and would need photoshop finishing touches to pop out.

Next one is for Ted... but you'll have to wait.
Title: Re: FH Community Creativity Thread
Post by: Kubador on 28-09-2011, 22:09:11
Another one, this time for Musti. I know Ted was supposed to be next but the one for him is time consuming (read special).

Musti, you can use this in photoshop to make it look like coming out of the barrel (a pistol or a tank). If you'd like me to do a sig for you in this fashion just say it.

Smokey "Musti"

P.S. I make the graphics bigger on purpose so no one has to scale it up which results in crappy resolution if you use raster programs.

Here's the one for Ted. It's been haunting me for a bit now and I wanted to finish it asap. I still thin it needs finishing touches. I can resize it if needed. Next in line is ":| HI" steam punk theme but I will have to postpone any works for a bit since there are some FH related duties I have to manage first (which I hope you'll notice in due time).

EDIT: Damn, this purple is horrible with this BG. I will have to make some adjustments in the future.

Before anyone googles that, let it be know that you might find pretty major Game of Thrones spoilers. And I mean like ADWD-level spoilers.

I dont know if this is anyones cup of coffee here, but this is what resulted from me not playing FH2 this weekend:

http://snd.sc/RD7Sjq

Its just a midi file, but it sounds pretty decent. Well apart from the simplistic rhythm section, but its pointless to write out their parts completely since they play whatever they like anyway. For your convenience I also quickly added some written-out solos.

I'd say its a Grade 5 Arrangement so if you've got a good enough big band, let me know and ill send you the pdfs (for free as of now) if youre interested.

Ive been bored off an on for a few weeks and in my free time i have been working on a new updated version of my FH2 Weapons Check.

http://imagehosting.fat-randy.de/images/221140post1.jpg

Using the GamePlayObjects.con as a guide, this new version will show all kits by both teams before & after flag caps. I'm also adding ammo locations.

As this is just for fun, i'm tipping my hat to the FH2 news updates format.

Also, Fat-Randy (TY for image hosting) has a more detailed "Kit Guide" on his site (http://www.fat-randy.de/include.php?path=content/articles.php&contentid=193&PHPKITSID=0759cc5b07c1fa1932d7b7855b04cef3), but has yet to post the new maps.

Hopefully this will be finished this week sometime.

Hey guys,

This might be a long shot, but I'm asking you for some help.

I'm not very good with neither photoshop, illustrator or any other design-program.

I have a t-shirt I want to print, for a gift. However, I found the t-shirt online and it's only this small local latin-club that made it and it seems impossible for me to get my hands on it.

Now, from these pictures, is there anyone here who could remake the design, so that I could use it to print my own version of it? If not the exact same design, the text might be enough, or some other design!

This is the front:

And this is the back:

(The latin writing means something like "But only we can read the signs")

If you can, please let me know. would me insanely appreciated!

Edit: honestly, any design appropriate would be awesome. Or perhaps just create the design (as in a road on "all roads lead to rome", and a sign for the back. The text I could do myself.

Slick editing there Kubador!

I like the theme. But the "immerse yourself" font. Why do you use that particular font?

I wanted to have something with a little less weight than the FH font which is very heavy. Now that I look at it, I made the mistake of making as big sign as one can on a poster.
