Can't wait for it. I'm definitely gonna purchase either the 1080 or the 1070 depending on specs and money. I still got a 640ti which is lacking the needed power.

Once again Nvidias marketing works almos perfectly: people are hyped.

The cards may become good, but still I'am sceptical since the 3,5 debacel, you remember that? Also the prices increased a way too much amo. Fortunately EVGA offers Step-Up for their cards. :)

I will wait and watch prices when the GTX 1070 comes out.

Perhaps a good time to start looking for cheap 970 or 980 from used markets.  :P

My little brother bought a new R9 380 like a month ago when the just announced RX 480 in crossfire is pretty much the GTX 1080. Only the 480 will set you back $200 (so $400 for the crossfire config). Poor sucker. ;D

Plus the fact that AMD supports the important DX12 feature Async comuting since the HD7950.
While Maxwell had no support, Pascal is still not optimized. Even the overprized 1080 runs in the limit, meanwhile the shiny tiny 480 for 200 bucks idles at around 50%. There you go AMD!

Gonna follow the price battles for a couple of months
GTX 970 is already cheap on ebay :-)

don't buy the trash 970. never. even if you get it for free, sell it for the best price you can get.

it has only 3,5gb 256bit ram, lousy dx12 support and so on. AMD's RX480 comes in at 199€ new, supporting full 4gb ram (rumors say even 8), full dx12 , better perf/watt and longer warranty.
