Now that we have the new FH2 start software is it possible to play SP without having a internet connection.  Last week someone took down out our connection when they hit a pole and I thought I would play FH2 Single Player.  When I tried to log into BF2/Fh2 it hung because it could not find a internet connection.  Is there a way to now start the game for SP that would by by pass it trying to find the game server?  Thanks for any help.

I figured out the problem. When the bf2revive uninstaller took off the program for some reason the hosts file in windows/system32/drivers/etc/ had been modified and it didn't change it back. I copied the file from Microsoft and replaced it and PR works now. I'm using windows 7 ultimate, in case someone else has this problem. The host file has different default info in win7 than other versions. I did verify that there were remenates from bf2revive because IP addresses in the hosts file took me to battlelog.co. but it came up bf2hq/GameSpy.com if I remember right, but it said on the header of the page battlelog.co so I don't know. Just wanted share any info I had so you could help someone else if they ask. Thank you again for your help.

 
 As much as i understand his post you have to remove the redirects from battlelog.co manually from your hosts file since they wont be removed automatically if you uninstall the launcher. Maybe this will help you.

I hope you can do a system restore or have a backup of you reg because that is the only thing that worked for me.  I know I did at least four clean installs of BF2 and FH2 and nothing worked until I did a system restore.  I am assuming that  the new bf2 launcher does something to the reg that prevents the fh2 launcher from running.     If you set the options in the fh2 video to windowed mode you might be able to see the error message when FH2 crashes.  Good luck.

You say they should not interfere, but that has not been my experience so far  :^))      Something is causing the problem and it all started right after I installed the other BF2 launcher yesterday.

So I just installed again...This time I stopped at FH 2.1 and was able to create a single user account and play.  I will now try to install 2.46 and then update and see what happens. 

Installed 2.6 ran the updater.  Updated,  updater hung after it completed the update and I hit the play button.  I was able to go into FH2 using a single player account.  If I try to use any of the other multiplayer accounts I get the same error message.  Is there  a way to clear the info in the launcher and start from scratch?  So, what should I try next?

Everything had been running fine using the FH2Launcher until I installed and ran BF2 Launcher.  Running FH2.47  about reads version 2.8.603  version of launcher 1.21.0.0.   I guess I am going to re-install.  I do have a backup of my BF2 and FH2 folders from my documents.  Can I plug those back in after the install?  Thanks again for the feed back.

Thank you for the reply.  I have tried both those things. Uninstall and repair and I am getting the same error.  I  will let you know if I find a solution.

Today I joined Hurtgen Forrest on the 100 player server.  Came in on the US side.  I formed a squad (6).  Before anyone else joined the squad I heard other players voices.  Some how I was listening to a German squad.  They could not hear me.  When others joined my squad they could not hear me and they did not hear the other on the German side.  Very strange.  I was thinking I might have stumbled on to the Enigma machine.   This went on thought out the game.  It did not occur on the next game.  Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. 

Thank you for the response.  What you call broken, I call being able to play without the distracting chatter going on.  Not to mention the language issue.  So now I have to go into the setting each and every time and check the box that makes the game play I wanted it to.  Thanks for a great mod....for the most part.
