Cya in 3 days guys
-
Yaay for the new stug, Always wanted this version.
I can already see me driving the new wasp and attack with it while under cover of a wall of fire in front of me :p
-
Feels like a burning sting...
Wasp is sweet, and it can still carry people!
And a boxy StuG!
-
(http://www.forgottenhonor.com/modules/Forums/images/smiles/violent5.gif)
-
Nice. I just hope that MG on top of stug, will have decent field of view. Don't make camera look too far behind the armor plate, or that MG is useless...
-
Ohhhh Wasp! Pure teamkilling bliss ! ;D ;D
-
An ingame preview/screenshot/video of the WASP would be supernice :) (if its already coded)
-
Awesome update ;)
-
Will it blow in a big firebowl? ;D ;D ;D

Seriously nice stuff, hope to see lifebuoys next time :P

I'm loving the past two updates. Great job devs... ;D
-
... Still using the 1957 Canadian ensign on the updates instead of the proper green maple leaf flag? :P
-
Unless this goes to replace some vehicles in Totalize, I take it we are staying in Summer time Europe thenn :-\
-
Yeah, I mean do you know how boring it is to change all skins to a winter version?
-
If only we had that Wasp flamethrower thingy in 1776...
-
FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUCK. Yeah. I never really liked Universal/Bren Carriers (rather hated them because they're so clumsy) but this baby sure will rock my world (lol).
By the way: I take it that the new StuG 40 will have StuK 40 L/43 cannon? If so, isn't that supposed to be Ausf. F then? Because Gs were mounted with L/48 (some of the Fs as well - designated as F/8, but we're talking about L/43 here, right?). ???
-
No, L48.
-
Damn news, confused me with its epic awesomeness I guess.
So there's like zero difference between "early" and "late" versions?
-
visuals, and no co-ax, thats about it.
Even with the L/43 the results would be no different on pretty much every Allied tank. They aren't with the IVF2 v IVH.
Still good to see, and the skin is excellent.
-
Yeah, yeah it's not that I'm complaining or something, looks great (altho the Topfblende of the "late" version does look better, but can't blame the modeler here, hehe) and the skin is definitely much more appealing than the one of StuG IV's (damn, I wanted a StuG III without skirts variant on my map, why does IV version have to be the only one without skirts :( :P) ;)
-
the Wasp Mk IIC and the Sturmgeschütz 40 Ausf G:

btw whats with the Kar98 and G43 'More/Less' signatures?
http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=9491.0
I just wanted to replace my old signature, which had a huge filesize and noticably slowed down loading. Apparently it has caught on 0o
-
Lt. Jimmy, where did the image in your signature come from? ;D
-
Finally the boxy StuG!
Great to see a flame-vehicle too. Will its flamethrower effect be similar to that of the M2 seen on some maps (only with better range)?
-
Nice 'lil gadgets you made Mr. Devs... (http://chopard.fest4.free.fr/emoticons/army/armata/armata_PDT_37.gif)
-
Lt. Jimmy, where did the image in your signature come from? ;D
Commando Comics: My guilty pleasure ;)
-
Whoa, cool, the WASP will surely be a killer, especially in close-quarters combat, though I guess it´ll be quite vulnerable on longer distances.
The new Stug looks great, too, just a classic.
Well done and good job!
(Though I hope to see the early French theater announced soon ;) )
-
Very very nice. I love the boxy STUG, looks stunning. The Wasp will be epic I think.
BTW: Now that TAO can't post for three days lets start a lot of discussions about how well protected the ammo-storage on Panthers were just to make him go totally mad. ;D
-
Sizzle! Sizzle! Mmmm! Love the smell of burn meat! HaHaHaHaHA! 8).....ehem.....Great update as usual!
-
(damn, I wanted a StuG III without skirts variant on my map, why does IV version have to be the only one without skirts :( :P) ;)
Well good news sonny chap, there is a skirtless version of this stug aswell, its just not in the render screenshot for some reason.
-
Lovely :) Just lovely.
-
Nicely Done Cant Wait To Flip Over In This Thing :P
Or Better Yet Figure Out How To Cook Myself With It.
-
Nice. Never heard of the Wasp before, but I'm sure it'll be a nice flaming deathtrap for British troops riding in it. The new boxy StuG is more historically accurate unlike the rare one we have now. Can't wait to laugh at Shermans shooting at my front armor.

Why does every word in your posts begin with a capital letter?
-
Cool update, like a 8 year old kid I still like to play with fire ;D. In which maps can we expect to see the Wasp in action? Already released maps or new ones ?
-
Since our Fans want History accuracy before everything else we have only 2 maps where it would fit from timeline. Sadly this maps are not made well for it. We think about if we could do some little "Bowing" of the timeline to places this little bugger. ;D
-
Luckily though, you can add this new StuG III to all Normandy maps and replace the old late model StuG III. ;)
-
Oooooh!

and when you have a PIAT man in the carrier? ALLIED BIAS!
-
And a pzscreck rocket inbound for it?
ALLIED FIREBALL! ;D

Considering it's a Mark IIC, there's only two maps in the mod (and one referred to in the changelog) where it would fit, timeline or no timeline ;)
Here's to hoping that we will see also other armed Carrier variants (Boys, PIAT, MMG, mortar), and of course more flamethrower tanks (M4A3R3 Sherman Zippo, Churchill Crocodile, SdKfz 251/16).
-
Good update ;D
For some reason this stug version is one of my favourite vehicles of the war!
-
It is very clear that the axis are screwed because they don't have a flamethrower to counter.

AAAAAaaaalright. NOW I came. Yesyesyesyesyesyesyes! I just love you devs, you're the best (I know you know) :P :D
-
Since it is possible to get a different hat when you get inside a vehicle, can we look like those guys when we go inside the WASP?
-
Wasp AWESOME, cant wait to napalm everything with it, enemies, friendlies you name it.
-
especially friendlies and yourself! ahhh..the anticipation. I am curious if I can get below -22, point du hoc somewhere this winter toasting 95% of the Hslan squad I was in \o/
-
... Still using the 1957 Canadian ensign on the updates instead of the proper green maple leaf flag? :P
Every Canadian division had their own colour of maple leaf flag. 1st Canadian Inf. Div. had red one, 2nd blue, 3rd grey, 4th Armoured division green (which you mentioned) etc.

C for Canadian ;) Totalize, Falaise, plus Juno from changelog. The Canucks are defending in Falaise and Totalize is mostly open country which is not the preferred environment of flamethrowers.
Of course, if the IIC (as opposed to "regular" Mk II) was also used by the British (or if we "stretch" our tolerance for deviations from realism just a little bit), there's more choice. Anctoville and PeB especially would benefit from this, with the constant close combat; however, Wasp would be useful in the cityfight parts of Goodwood and Villers as well.
-
And a pzscreck rocket inbound for it?
ALLIED FIREBALL! ;D
I wonder if it blews up good, we could use it as a suicide vehicle...
-
whats going to be really scary is the firing range of that little bugger
-
Does someone want to explain to me where the Stug IV and StuG III (late) should belong since it seems this StuG should be on Normandy maps?
Also, Toddel, how hard is it to reskin the Wasp with British markings?
-
Where they shoudl belong? Well technically the StuG40G early should be on every Normandy map, but I'd suggest we leave the late version on some maps for now until we get more appropriate maps for it. Would be a shame to have it nowhere.
The StuG IV was also used in Normandy, but not very commonly I think.
-

StuG III G early (this one) can be used on all Normandy maps that feature StuG's
StuG IV can also be used on some Normandy maps (like that one map it's on now, shush)
StuG III G late (the one in game now) should only be used on Bulge and 1945 maps.
-

The Bren Wasp is actually the British skin "3rd Mechanised Division".
-
its a british skin
-
Will the wasp go up in a huge fireball - larger than other vehicals - when it blows?
-
When you go Panzerfaust on it, better be on a distance.
-
30m... I'm gonna need a longer range. 8)
-
Oops. Did a bit of googling on the subject of Mark IIC. I had thought that it was a Canadian-only exclusive, but now the British skin and "timeline" issue make sense. Apparently, the Canadian idea was so good that all Wasps from June 1944 onwards were built into IIC pattern (and some "vanilla" Mark II's - but apparently not Mark I's - were even factory-converted in addition to field modifications). Anyway, while the regular Mark II went into action in July 1944, the first IIC's entered battle only in August 1944. Which then leaves only the less-than-suitable Totalize and Falaise, unless history is altered. Or Market/Garden is included ;)
-
I have a question:
Will the carrier blow up if you shoot the tank on its back or not?
Actually what fuel it uses? If its petrol then no boom...If it was something else (which i doubt) then KABOOM!
-

then it is gonna be a lot of teamkills if you flipped it full.

oooh I just saw the update. thanks devs <3
Whats the range of the wasp?

Huge.

Will I be able to scorch church tower lofts from a decent range? :)

Will I be able to scorch church tower lofts from a decent range? :)
Like from main base? ;D
-
Judging from our internal test pictures Kev posted, you´ll be able to do that. Not from main base but from a decent position near the church (see the rl pictures of that thing, we are going to code things how they were in rl).
-
in terms of range i guess you could do it
but i doubt the thing can shoot that high up.
-
Just park it in the crater or something and there ya go :P

The late stug was incorrectly used for 3 releases :v

Its nothing like in Hollywood. This is a thicking agent mixed with gasoline, wich has 2 advantages=
1.The mixture burns much longer and pretty much horrible sticks to everything
2.It will not explode in a huge ball of flame when something happens.
It will just pretty much catch on fire. It still dint made it safe though :D Any troops standing in a 1meter vicinity should be affected though

AA Wasp? Cookie for the one who first shoots a German plane down with that. :P

Falaise, first flag.
Germans spawn at the river, they are crossing. 30 meters ahead stands a lone wasp. SwoooosHSssss, whole squad decimated. Rinse and repeat untill German armor arrives :D

does the flamethrower got a crosshair thing/sight or we have to guess like that in the walking stuka?

Yes, but I was referring to the version that had been standardized as the de facto national Canadian Red Ensign in 1921, which is popularly portrayed with the green maple leaf; a standardized red maple leaf wasn't in national service until 1957, at least as stated on the easy-to-find websites...
-
What maple leaves and where now?
-
Why discuss mapple leaves when we can has BBQ schnitzel
-
Hmmm BBQ time. The Uni carrier is a rather fun vehicle. :)

i like that

Nice update liking all the different Stugs we're gonna get :)
One thing though that's got me confused
Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope. Today we are showing off not only two new armored vehicles, but a class type yet unseen in FH2.
What does it mean by class type ?, I thought it meant a new type of soldier class, but I cant see any mention of a new class type in the update just the two new vehicles. Does it mean a new class of vehicle i.e. the wasp?
-
Yes, a flame-thrower vehicle.
-
Ah, thanks for clearing that up Thorondor, I'll take the stupid cap off now :P
-
wouldn't it be more like Flamethrower-APC?
correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there that russian t-34 version (seen in Karelia) with the flamethrower
-
Yup, the OT-34. The Flame-thrower was on the hull LMG's place.
And of course the OT-130:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_M8_hS0gqU8
-
wouldn't it be more like Flamethrower-APC?
First up we have a variant of the British Universal Carrier; the Wasp Mk IIC, and with it we are happy to introduce the flame tank, or in this case, flame APC to the world of FH2.
Do you guys even read what I write or just oogle over the pictures?
